Wonderful
Great location right on the Singel Canal and 20 minutes walk to the train station. Very quiet hotel and beautifully decorated.
I found the double bedroom very small and I was alone. It would be hard for 2 adults with luggage to function easily. All the rooms have unique decor.
I was not happy with the decor of the first room and asked to be changed which they gladly did.
Overall breakfast was excellent but the hot food is buffet style and the scrambled eggs were always dry and they were not willing to make fresh which was ridiculous for a €26 breakfast!!

This is our second stay and again we really enjoyed it. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. If I had to give 1 negative and give this reluctantly, it was regarding the complimentary biscuits and cakes. This time during our visit they seemed a little more reluctant to top this up as they have done during our last visit. It was quite nice for our 3 day stay to come back to a hot chocolate and a biscuit. However, on our return these were never replenished for all guests to enjoy and most of the time, the table was empty which was a shame.
I loved my stay

We took your offer to upgrade to the suite in room 10 and loved it and stayed on the suite in room 11 during the 2nd part of our trip.

It was in a good location . Rooms were nice . We stayed previously in a hotel in Budapest with breakfast included and a wine and cheese hour in the afternoon .
I thought the breakfast was not what I would have expected for the money and quality of the hotel. I was very surprised that it was a limited buffet and did not offer an omelette service.
Not sure about the philosophy of dropping off and picking up the hotel key. The staff was always busy so not much interaction. It was an inconvenience to wait in line behind a large crowd checking in to retrieve the room key .

No, it was renovated bathrooms were brand new. The sitting area is downstairs in the lobby.
The room was too small for two people in luggage. You could move there knickknack tables out of the room for more room in the room the light in the bed and made me turn on, but I could never give it to turn off because the nose is broken.. I wish the hotel had a restaurant that served food. It serves breakfast, but it doesn’t serve anything else. They offer tea and coffee for free. I need to put out coffee cups. I don’t know how many people enjoy drinking coffee or a hot beverage in a glass..

Very Poor
Location!
The stay was disappointing, mainly because the room felt far more dated than expected. The mattress was especially poor, it had visible springs and felt like something from another era, which made sleeping uncomfortable. The entire room also had that old wooden smell some older houses have, and instead of feeling charming, it made the space feel worn and stale.
There were also several basic practical issues that should not happen in a hotel. The toilet did not even have a trash bin, which meant there was nowhere proper to dispose of toilet paper or other small waste inside the toilet.
The Wi-Fi was another frustration. It technically existed, but it never actually worked properly because there was no internet connection. On top of that, no clear Wi-Fi information was provided in the room or at check-in, which is something that is standard in almost every hotel.
The room facilities overall felt very outdated. Even the television felt stuck in the past, it was the first TV I have seen since around 2016 that was not a smart TV and did not even have proper options to connect or mirror from a phone. Taken together, the whole experience felt behind the times and in need of serious updating.

The property was conveniently located on a beautiful canal in the shopping district. Easy walk to Anne Frank House and Van Gogh Museum. Lots of restaurants nearby too.

Excellent location. Lots of character in this very well decorated refurbishment. The building is very pleasant, one lingers in the lounge with pleasure. Excellent breakfast. Great staff. Well equipped rooms, luxury feel (with a good taste) everywhere.
Very small rooms. Expensive, as the best can be in Amsterdam.
