The design was nice
One of the staff was not allowing me entering my room as I have 2 kids and “room just for 2” .. when I asked for another room she offered one located far away from our room and she said you can find another hotel if you don’t like the option I offered you. Room service closes at 11pm so you can get anything after that even ice The hotel offered one room key and you have to hand it over every time you leave the hotel

Absolutely stunning property. I don’t believe the photos do it justice. The staff were excellent. The location was perfect. I could not have picked a better place to stay in Amsterdam. Highly recommend. I will be staying here every time I visit AMS from here on out.

The decor was really nice some nice touches like free biscuits and some free drinks coffee tea water.
I thought the room we had was to small although nicely decorated and we had a window which looked into the glass lift I wasn't impressed as I thought I paid a lot of money for 2 nights

Great location, excellent staff, nice bar for a pre dinner drink, excellent breakfast. Truly a gem of a hotel near everything we like to do in Amsterdam. Convenient - within steps of the 9 streets shops and restaurants - very close to the Dam and Leidseplein - nice walk to Vondelpark and Museumplein - close to centraal station and the old part of town.
Our room, 112, should be avoided due to noise from the automatic sliding doors directly below. We used a white noise generator to mute it and it wasn’t terribly disruptive but is annoying.

Location, location, location. Overlooking the canal and right beside the 9 Streets. Such a nice part of the city. Tea and coffee available free of charge. Such a nice touch. Public space is lovely and welcoming. Very relaxing.
Room decor a little dated. Wardrobe space very limited. Breakfast room very small. Need to book a 45min breakfast slot. Found this off putting. Expensive for room only.

I traveled to Amsterdam with my 9 year old daughter for a long weekend in March 2026, and we chose to stay at Hotel Estherea. First of all, the hotel is absolutely gorgeous!! I love how the design details were so intentional, colorful, and beautiful. We loved our room, which was exceptionally clean. The bed was comfortable with crisp linens, and the bathroom was beautiful. The hotel sets out tea and coffee and snacks for the afternoon, which was nice to enjoy after a day of shopping and exploring. The hotel's central location made it easy for us to walk to all our destinations. I'm ready to come back to Amsterdam and stay here again!

Luxurious, comfy lovely bathroom products.
Reception staff were not very friendly so our initial first evening was disappointing. As the week went on the bar staff seemed friendly. We don’t feel the reception staff went out of their way to be helpful.

The hotel is beautiful. It feels like understated luxury.
The only thing that wasn't exceptional was the charge for breakfast it wasn't terrible. Still, after having a much better breakfast buffet included in the room price at a different hotel, I don't understand why this hotel charges so much for this service.

The room turned out to be very small, with extremely low ceilings, which creates a feeling of pressure. I understand that this is a structural feature that cannot be changed, but staying in such a space is uncomfortable. In addition, the room was booked for three people, but there is clearly not enough space — it is almost impossible to move around comfortably.
Great location and a very beautiful lobby.
