Hotel Die Port van Cleve is ideally located in the city center of Amsterdam, right behind the Nieuwe Kerk and Dam Square, next to Magna Plaza Shopping Mall. From its humble beginnings as a brewery in 1864 to becoming one of Amsterdam's most beloved hotels, Die Port van Cleve has been a witness to history, culture, and innovation. The hotel consists of six monumental buildings that are connected to each other, therefore all 122 hotel rooms vary in size and layout. Wonderful
Great location, staff very friendly, hotel bar was great. Didn't eat in the restaurant but it was packed every day and night. Enjoyed learning the history of the hotel and buildings. Suited our needs perfectly.
Room was a bit smaller than the picture seemed to show, but it was fine.

Wonderful
The location is perfect about 1 block off the canal. The room, despite being tight, had comfortable beds and the staff was amazing. They responded quickly to all requests. The bar just off the lobby was a lot of fun too!
We reserved a cozy twin which was very tight for 2 people. The twin beds were basically pushed together and you couldn’t open the bathroom door all the way. The toilet was so close to the wall it was hard to rise up if you’re a tall person.

We really enjoyed the hotel's excellent location and the delicious breakfast. The smoked salmon was exceptionally fresh and not overly salty, and the black bread was outstanding. The shower had excellent water pressure, which was another pleasant surprise. Throughout our stay, the staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful.
We were initially assigned Room 101. Although it looked stylish and unique, it wasn't suitable for us because it was affected by loud tram noise, had internal stairs, and lacked a wardrobe. We were then moved to Room 601, where we encountered another issue: the air conditioner was so noisy that it kept us awake at night. Unfortunately, it took two days for the problem to be resolved. My son, who stayed in Room 301, also had difficulty sleeping on several nights because of noise from the room above. The sound insulation between the floors was not sufficient to block the disturbance.

Location to the train station.
They CHARGED me to get in my room early. Never in all my travels have I been charged when the room is ready prior to check in time. Also, room size. The only walkway in the room was the width of a suitcase - very tiny.

The location is great and if you are staying on the floors that have been renovated, the rooms are very nice.
The floors that have not been renovated are in need of work--the water pressure is good, but everything else is pretty warn down and the A/C, though available, does not work well at all on the top floor.

Great location and was clean.
Our air conditioning did not work. They came up and said it was because they heard the motor, however there never was any airflow. Our room got very hot and stuffy. I picked this hotel because it said it had AC. To be fair, they were having a heat wave.
