Hotel Die Port van Cleve is ideally located in the city center of Amsterdam, right behind the Nieuwe Kerk and Dam Square, next to Magna Plaza Shopping Mall. From its humble beginnings as a brewery in 1864 to becoming one of Amsterdam's most beloved hotels, Die Port van Cleve has been a witness to history, culture, and innovation. The hotel consists of six monumental buildings that are connected to each other, therefore all 122 hotel rooms vary in size and layout. Location was perfect! Right off Dam Square and about 10 mins walk from the station. Staff were so kind and friendly and very helpful. Rooms were very clean and cozy, especially loved the rituals soaps and lotions in the bathrooms!
The only thing we found was that we had 2 single beds and it’s almost as though the mattresses didn’t fit the beds and we found ourselves getting up in the middle of the night putting the mattress back in place so as not to fall off the bed!

The staff were really lovely. The room was great size and great layout/facilities. Location is amazing.
We were upgraded so we were all on the same floor which was lovely of them. However right outside our room, outside, there were pavement building works (lots of machinery & drilling) that would kick off around 7am every morning. Not the hotels fault and only temporary so don't be put off! But keep in mind if you're planning to stay in the next week or 2. Room got cleaned but didn't top up the loo roll which was strange. Had to ask reception for a roll.

Amazing location! The rooms were wonderfully comfortable with little nose from the street outside. The hotel's food recommendations were top class; we ate at three dinner choices, and they were excellent! Plus, it was my was my birthday and they provided a sweet gift and birthday sign. The only downside is that the window from the room was directly facing the hotel sign so there was no view to speak of, but we barely were inside the hotel
