I don't know if it's just an Amsterdam thing but the rooms are terribly small and always DARK. I thought I was paying up to get a bigger room, but it was still tiny, and virtually no window. Just a small one in the corner covered by a shelf.
Tiny room and SO DARK. The city is dark and rainy as it is, but with barely any window light, it feels even more claustrophobic.

Lovely hotel with great facilities. Location is fantastic, across from Dam Square and an easy walk from the train station. Lots of restaurants and shopping near by.

The staff were professional and welcoming. The room was spotless. The location is convenient.
The bathtub and shower. It's an accident waiting to happen. Difficult to adjust water temperature. It goes from cold to scorching with the slightest adjustment. The tub doesn't drain well causing standing in a slippery tub in a couple of inches of water. I reported it once but nothing changed. The bathtub/shower is not old-aged or disabled friendly. This potentially dangerous situation is why I didn't give the hotel the top rating nor would I recommend it.

The building's historic and central location was excellent. The rooms were beautifully designed, and everything was adequate. Water, tea, and coffee were replenished daily.
There's a tram stop right in front, but you can walk anywhere you want to go. Stopping by the hotel during the day is very convenient. Ercan Bey was very helpful with everything. The other hotel staff were also very helpful and friendly

Wonderful
Location was ideal for everything we wanted to do while in Amsterdam. Our room was on the second floor with a Juliet balcony overlooking the tram/Royal Palace. Room was spacious, clean, and staff were friendly. The welcome gift of stroopwafels was a great find in our room, and being able to check in early helped after a long travel day from Canada!
Missed housekeeping after sleeping in a little one morning and despite asking for towels to be dropped off to our room twice, we still weren’t able to get fresh towels (not a huge deal really). It was quite loud (the Juliet doors provided very little of a sound barrier from the outside) but again, small price to pay for the convenience of the location. Not being about to turn off the light in the stairs in our room was a little annoying when trying to sleep

Very convenient to GVB, Amsterdam Centraal and Dam Square, shops, restaurants and bakeries.
Our room overlooked the main North/south busy street so there was a good bit of noise until late.

Location was great. Right next to the tram stop. Many places to eat and drink are around the property. It is right next to the Dam square and the shopping mall. It is just a few blocks away from the jordan district and the central station.
Rooms were a little tight. There was barely any place to move around or place your luggage and bathroom quite small.
There was no bathroom in the lobby. It was located one flight of steps downstairs.
The staff was courteous and warm, but some of the friend desk staff did not know much about the local area. They offer to book a trip, but good to have been more helpful in guiding the guests to navigate on their own.
