Hotel Die Port van Cleve is ideally located in the city center of Amsterdam, right behind the Nieuwe Kerk and Dam Square, next to Magna Plaza Shopping Mall. From its humble beginnings as a brewery in 1864 to becoming one of Amsterdam's most beloved hotels, Die Port van Cleve has been a witness to history, culture, and innovation. The hotel consists of six monumental buildings that are connected to each other, therefore all 122 hotel rooms vary in size and layout. Excellent location and staff, who went over and above with customer service.

We had a suite, it was very spacious and clean.
The bed was super high and hard to get into. The sink would not drain and you could only get ice from the bar after 4, so none in the morning.

Fantastic location and friendly, helpful staff. The bar was great and the bar staff very knowledgeable and accommodating. Happy to make cocktails not on the menu, best negroni outside of Italy.

You can’t beat the location. Theres a tram stop literally outside, you’re right opposite the lovely Dam square and royal palace. The hotel bar is great, staff are lovely, and the hotel was clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again
The room is cosy - it does say this on the website but you want to make sure you know the person you’re sharing with well before you go! The beds are very high and the mattresses do have a tendency to slip off

Great location, especially if travelling by train as only a 10 min walk from Amsterdam Centraal. We’d booked a comfort room and it was excellent with a comfy bed, plenty of space, kettle, coffee machine and good sized bathroom including a bath. Staff were very helpful allowing us to check early as the room was ready and storing our luggage at the end of our stay.
We didn’t try the breakfast which we felt was too expensive at 27.50 per person per night. Plenty of good, interesting breakfast places nearby.

Everything was perfect, the staff were extremely helpful and kind and the rooms were pristine. The location is completely central, you are no more than a 10 minute walk from everything you want. I could not fault this hotel at all

Beautiful historic hotel. Rooms were very nice if not a bit on the smaller side (still comfortable). The location is awesome. You walk outside and you can easily reach all of the most iconic sites in Amsterdam. Central Train station is 10 min walk from the hotel making it very convenient. We had a 24 hour layover so this worked out well. The restaurant connected with the hotel, Bouillon d’Amsterdam, was packed for dinner and although I didn't have dinner there, it seems like a hot place to each.
