Hotel Die Port van Cleve is ideally located in the city center of Amsterdam, right behind the Nieuwe Kerk and Dam Square, next to Magna Plaza Shopping Mall. From its humble beginnings as a brewery in 1864 to becoming one of Amsterdam's most beloved hotels, Die Port van Cleve has been a witness to history, culture, and innovation. The hotel consists of six monumental buildings that are connected to each other, therefore all 122 hotel rooms vary in size and layout. The location of die Port van Clee is excellent. Two stops on the tram from the Central railway station and walking distance to many good shops and restaurants. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great - very fresh and convenient. Our room was in the eaves on the 3rd floor. It was spacious with separate toilet and bathroom. Bed was very comfortable and made up daily.
Old bar was closed for refurbishment.

The front desk staff were very helpful & friendly. The breakfast choices were exceptional. Location was central & within walking distance to the Amsterdam Central Station.
The layout of the bathroom was not the best for people who are not average in size. The room was a bit small for people who have more than just carry on luggage, but we managed.

We had a delicious lunch. At the restaurant fabulous soup. We were looking forward to trying the bar unfortunately it was closed for the three days we were there. Having read about it . It was disappointing. We always like a good bar to enhance our stay.

Our second stay here, and this time we went for a larger room, which was worth the extra. We ended up with a balcony and this was great for watching the passing parade of people on the street below. Very convenient location for public transport, shops and a nearby supermarket. On site restaurant offered breakfast and dinner options.
Would have liked to have stayed longer than the 3 nights we were there.

Location is excellent, the staff were very helpful and friendly. Nice and clean.
The only downside I found is the single beds were on quite the small side and very high so was concerned about rolling out all night! Everything is great.

I was in Amsterdam for a few days and wanted to find a good base. The hotel's presentation on booking.com immediately appealed to me. When I arrived, I was more than impressed that the hotel exceeded my expectations. It's an exceptionally beautiful place to start a trip. Tasteful rooms that underline the traditional building and the general ambience. Comfortable, quiet, clean, and with everything you need inside. The beds were very good. The staff, from reception to housekeeping, were all very, very friendly and courteous. The location of the hotel can only be described as sensational: coming from the train station, it takes about 10 minutes to walk to the hotel with your suitcase. There, you walk through a touristy but safe, clean and attractive area. The location of the hotel itself and the surrounding area is truly premium. You walk out the door, cross the street, walk a few meters further, and you're at the main square with the palace. There is a shopping center next to the hotel itself. So you are immediately immersed in the city life of Amsterdam as soon as you leave the building. If you want to retreat, you can quickly return to this wonderful place. I highly recommend staying there!
