Location was absolutely the. best, right behind Dam square and close to restaurants, trams and shops. Reception staff were lovely and helpful. Rituals amenities were very much appreciated. We were able to fully open windows which was nice as the room could get stuffy. Stroopwaffel gift was a nice touch. Great history behind the hotel.
The mattresses kept sliding off the bed! There was absolutely no room to put any personal toiletries either in the shower or near the sink as everything was cramped. Bedside tables were too small and too low as the bed was quite high. The "closet" was one of those open hanging units with a safe at the bottom and virtually no room to hang the clothes of two people for 1 week. Grungy looking rug and the chair had what looked like a cigarette burn.

It was quiet expensive but the bread was very good. The restaurant used to be beautiful but it was sold and doesn't belong to the hotel anymore. They changed the whole decor and it looks like any diner.

First they gave me a terrible room: very cold, with stairs and as I complained they were nice enough to give me an other room. The mini fridge is empty. There is no phone to call the reception! This I thought was very strange. I had stayed there a long tima ago and it was completely different. It used to be much better! It was a disappointment.

This is a very comfortable hotel right in the old town near the palace. Tram service right outside. Huge supermarket 2 minutes walk. Helpful staff. China cups (not paper or plastic) adds to an excellent rating. Comfortable beds and pillows. Would not consider stay anywhere else in Amsterdam.

Location, location, location. So close to everything we were visiting. Able to walk easily. Short tram ride/taxi to Central Station when we were leaving. Very comfortable room. We frequented the bar and restaurant at the hotel as the food and drinks were great and reasonably priced. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend. It may cost a little more but well worth it.
Unfortunately we were unable to stay the 3 nights we had booked and were unable to receive a refund for one night due to the original booking be non-refundable That was a cost we did not need.

Beautiful building very close walking distance to everything you need to see in Amsterdam, the restaurant downstairs was wonderful for eating.
Room size is very small and quite dark, minimal lighting
