Good location. Modern facilities and good shower and hot water. Friendly and helpful staff.
Our first room on the 4th floor was dark and gloomy with small gothic windows and inadequate lighting. We upgraded for 120 € to a suite on the first floor but were plagued by thumping base reverberating through the room from the restaurant. Not music or a tune just endless thumping. We phoned reception three nights running but staff seemed unaware or unable to do anything about it. We were told it would go off at 11:30pm and they managed to turn it down slightly but you could still hear it. We do not understand why Management has installed this endless soundtrack but certainly they should warn first floor residents of this disturbance.
Windows don’t open and the duvet was enormously thick and heavy. A/C wouldn’t turn down past 20. We asked and got a sheet but lack of outside air was oppressive.
Our meal on the first evening was dominated by the thumping beat music until we said we’d leave unless they turned it off, which they eventually did. Our starter arrived after 45 minutes - the main course arrived one hour afterwards. The waiter obviously forgot to put the order in - it happens - but there was no apology or explanation.
The manager did waive our €120 upgrade fee when we said we had not enjoyed our stay.

The location was great, the hotel was great - absolutely exceeded my expectations in all honesty.
Lovely to be by the water, lots going on.
Our room had a great view, comfy bed, clean, tidy bathroom - decent shower.
The cooked / served part of breakfast was lovely - the omelette was tasty anyway.
We were pushed to get out of the room at 5 minutes past checkout time and advised that it was 15 euros per hour to stay past 11:00 am, which I didn't like. We had breakfast at 9:45 am and if the staff were a bit quicker with service - then we may not have had that annoying phone call.
The 'buffet breakfast' should be actually rephrased as approximately 3/4 slices of cheese that I could not stab with a fork they were that hard, a few slices of ham, a few chunks of pineapple and melon and a couple of tiny (child size) boxes of cereal - but no bowls, plates, cutlery or glasses to help yourself to the juice on the side, which was very random. Then when we did politely ask - the staff member had to check first to make sure we weren't lying. So was a bit awkward and considering it wasn't that busy - I was a bit shocked. A buffet breakfast, is a buffet breakfast - a bit of stale cheese and diminishing fruit - is anything but.

Very stylish interiors and in a lovely residential part of town. It’s great the property offers bike rentals and sauna.
There were a few things that could use improvement, the AC was broken in our apartment for the entire stay and the hallways were not always clean.

The views across the bay with regular motion of boats was glorious and the walk along the canal a standout. Travel to the city centre was also quite easy by bus and tram. If we were staying for more than 2 days we would have used the excellent kitchen set up.

We have stayed many times in past years. It’s been 2 years since our last visit. The people at desk were friendly as always.
Called for towels and robe and they were delivered promptly
The room needs a refresh -rm 106 broken shades need repair
Poor coffee and less supplies in room than previous stays-had to refresh coffee pods daily
The laundry area needs attention
Washing machine had hair in rubber trim on door and dryer filter packed with lint and paper
Housekeeping needs to attend to this regularly

We are a couple with two babies, and we absolutely love it here. The rooms are beautifully designed, spotless, and incredibly comfortable. The staff is genuinely friendly and welcoming, and both the restaurant food and room service are outstanding.
The sauna is fantastic — quiet, private, and very relaxing. The location is also perfect. Honestly, there is absolutely nothing we could complain about. We truly love this place and would happily come back anytime.

Our stay at The July Boat & Co. in Amsterdam was absolutely exceptional. The property itself is stunning — beautifully designed, peaceful, and incredibly comfortable. The location is perfect if you want to enjoy Amsterdam without being in the middle of the city chaos, while still being just 10–15 minutes away from all the central spots.
What truly made the experience special was the warm and welcoming staff. Every interaction felt genuine and thoughtful. The food and drinks were also spot on throughout our stay.
Overall, it was a solid 10/10 experience, and I would strongly recommend The July Boat & Co. to anyone looking for a relaxing yet well-connected stay in Amsterdam.
