The staff was wonderful and very helpful, the room very clean and cozy.
The bed was very small, and the room a little noisy.

Wonderful
We just had an amazing stay at Hotel Aalders - cozy rooms, friendly staff, and the perfect quiet spot right by the museums. My girlfriend and I left feeling totally refreshed and already wish we could go back.

Very Good
The hotel is in a great location and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Breakfast had limited variety.I also noticed that the toilet seat was not very clean, but when I reported it, the staff took care of the issue.

Location. Cleanliness. Excellent, friendly staff.
I would have preferred a real bar/lounge instead of the honesty bar.

Hotel was so pretty. Staff was professional and very kind. Everyone wanted us to have a wonderful experience in Amsterdam & assisted us with a map of the city.
The bed mattress was not as comfortable as we hoped for.

The location of the hotel is wonderful if you plan on going into the old part of the city or to the museums.

Location! Walking distance to the museums and very convenient to access the trams.
It was quite expensive for the amenities offered, and the size of the room!

Wonderful
I chose this hotel because of the price and the location, closer to the airport then city center.
I am from the States and am used to a free breakfast. So a free breakfast would have been great.

Location near Dutch masters museums and leafy parks. Quiet atmosphere near the hubbub of the city's more active neighborhoods. A variety of excellent restaurants nearby. The room was comfortable and the hotel aesthetically charming and manageable. The breakfast staff were super friendly and helpful. Overall, a respite from more active and noisy areas of Amsterdam yet close enough to get about easily.
Minor noise from adjacent room in middle of the night - not the hotel's fault.

Wonderful
The room was very small but staff was so helpful, with excellent recommendations. And the location could not have been better: museums right around the corner, and a do-able walk into the city center.
Got charged for a bottle of water twice (once in the evening, when I bought it, and then in the morning, on my way out). Wasn't going to argue, as taxi to airport was waiting and it was only a couple of euros, and the early AM guy was grumpy and insistent.

We had a delightful two night stay at Hotel Aalders recently. The staff was friendly and helpful and had a number of recommendations for meals and places to visit. Our room and bed were very comfortable and there was an option to take the elevator, very important for carrying suitcases to a top floor. We were steps away from the Van Gough Museum, Rijksmuseum, and others (note that we made reservations here a few weeks in advance, necessary for the museums here. Although we didn’t initially sign up for breakfast option, we ended up having the delicious hotel breakfast in the mornings. We loved our stay here and look forward to coming again with our family in the future.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this historic inn.

Hotel had excellent security with friendly and helpful staff. Quaint hotel with everything you need, and in an excellent location for sightseeing. And one of the only hotels in that area that had larger (and fully separated) beds in the room (2 doubles). Definitely would go back!

Wonderful
Very comfortable, small hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location, less than a block from the local airport bus that gets you there in under 25 minutes. I rarely even bother with the overrated and expensive airport hotels now even for an overnight, given how easy it is to get to the airport from this charming part of the city.
It would be nice if the breakfast hours ran just a little later on weekends but it's a minor issue.

Great location on a quiet, pretty street, near museums and grocery stores. My room was cozy and quiet and tastefully decorated and had a bit of a view. The bed was comfortable. The wifi was good. The elevator never broke down. The desk staff were friendly and helpful.
It would be nice to have a mini-fridge for drinks and leftovers. I wish the lobby coffee machine was free, as it is in many other hotels I have stayed at.

Nice old feeling room, but with a new feel. Easy access to public transportation. Great staff.
Breakfaat was good, but underwhelming. Location was nice, but not a lot of restautants and services right there.

Wonderful
Breakfast was a nice variety of foods, in a lovely breakfast room. We loved being on the top floor and having a view of the neighborhood out the windows. The honor bar was well stocked with drinks. Front desk was usually very helpful.
My only complaint was that there were no washcloths in the bathroom. When I asked at the desk, they just said "no, we don't have any." I was a little frustrated and confused about what to use to bathe with the supplied shower gel. Also, the shower gel was only reachable at standing level. I was so excited to have a nice soak in the bathtub. But these issues made it just a little less enjoyable.
