Nice old feeling room, but with a new feel. Easy access to public transportation. Great staff.

Breakfast was a nice variety of foods, in a lovely breakfast room. We loved being on the top floor and having a view of the neighborhood out the windows. The honor bar was well stocked with drinks. Front desk was usually very helpful.
My only complaint was that there were no washcloths in the bathroom. When I asked at the desk, they just said "no, we don't have any." I was a little frustrated and confused about what to use to bathe with the supplied shower gel. Also, the shower gel was only reachable at standing level. I was so excited to have a nice soak in the bathtub. But these issues made it just a little less enjoyable.

I loved the location and charm of the place. It is in the museum district and easy walking to Vondel Park and other Amsterdam attractions. The room was designed for one person, so it was small, but the coziness and design of the room, made me relaxed.
Can't think of anything I would change. It more than surpassed my travel needs.

Staff is nice, location is good. Nothing else going on for this property.
150-221 euros per night for matchbox sized rooms. I got depressed on the first day of my euro trip checking in this hotel. Considering the room size, 50 euros per night is an overkill for this room and we paid 150-221 euros depending on the day of the week. There is no ventilation within the building and its suffocating standing anywhere in this hotel. Thanks to booking.com policies, we couldn't cancel this hotel in time. 100 year old property which deserves a place in a museum not a running hotel.

From the moment we reached the door to the time we left the property- everything went smoothly. The staff, Rory, Mia, Kim, and everyone else whose name I did not get, has shown us nothing but pure professionalism, hospitality and kindness (Dutch sense of humor needs special commendation, but that’s another story).
You can tell it is a family-run hotel - it felt like we are visiting close family members!
Room and the bathroom were clean, “not just health department clean, Fatma clean”!
Breakfast has enough variety to fill up for the day. But the pancakes???? The best ones we have tried in sooo long - and our last stay was in August in Grand Hyatt in Saadiyat island. Their pancakes cannot even stand next to Aalders pancakes! Sorryyyy!
Location is perfect! Just walking distance from everywhere! Tram stop right behind the corner. We wasted day passes?♀️
You would think due to its closeness to attractions (museums) it would be noisy. No WAY! Very quiet street.
We would ABSOLUTELY come back to Aalders. Please accept the immense gratitude of the mother whose daughter is graduating and thinking of moving to the Netherlands - you showed the true nature of Dutch people and hospitality?

It was a great place, clean and comfortable. Our room was attic style and had a great view as well. Staff were very friendly. Location was also great, easy to get to bustling area and lots of restaurants, cafes, attractions.

Hotel is beautifully located in the Museum Quarter. It is a 3 minute walk to the Van Gogh Museum and the modern art museum and a 5 minute walk to the Rijksmuseum. Very usable and useful trams are a 2 minute walk from hotel.
The hotel experienced a power outage that prevented the elevator from working and kept some rooms, including the breakfast room and kitchen, completely in the dark. Our 3rd floor room had power but we opened the door to find elevator down and only emergency lights in hall and staircase. We had learned from another guest that the day of our check in there had been a similar power outage. We hope this was a one-time problem that required two attempts to repair, but getting off to a late start and without breakfast on what was to be a jam packed day was disappointing for us.
