My experience with Holiday Inn Express Sloterdijk is an absolute nightmare. Because of staff member, who was not in his senses, clearly he was high, under the influence of some substance. I just can't beleive how they can higher these kind of people for customers service position. Definitely take legal action against them for what he did to me. If he was not in his senses that wasn't my fault why i should be victimized.

Good breakfast and good location very close to the train/metro station. Friendly staff and all in all good value.
There are not many things to do close to the hotel. The restaurant Marmaris is just ok but not great, and the shop close by is rather expensive.

One stop to Amsterdam central station, and 2 stops from Schiphol airport.

Right next to train station, bus and tram. There was also a grocery store right next door which was nice to bring drinks and food to the room. You could open your window a bit to let the cool air circulate the room.
There were always hoodlums hanging around outside it seemed, wouldn’t recommend for ladies only.
Also the entrance is just to an elevator and you have to take the elevator to reach the lobby. You would often feel a bit exposed standing waiting for an elevator just to reach the lobby.

We booked a standard twin room, but when checking in we were given one bed. We were told the hotel was fully booked. Still no recent to not give us what we had reserved. It made sleeping less comfortable, which was a shame as we had a long travel day the next morning.

The location is very easily accessible by bus, train and metro. The breakfast was decent. This hotel is ideal for a short stay and is great value for money.

The train is extremely close and a huge positive. You can stay just outside the central of Amsterdam and not spend too much money in transit . This was my second time staying here and overall I would stay here again.
My room, it was either 417 or 418 I believe, the manual lock on the door didn’t work and it made me uncomfortable. The lock on the door didn’t seem to line up to the slot in the door frame. I had arrived pretty late due to a delayed flight so maybe not as much staff was there so when the issue was brought up there was not much they could do, I was hoping to be offered to change rooms but they just said maintenance can check in the afternoon but no guarantee when they could get there. The staff was reassuring that no one could get in without the key and they were very kind but I just didn’t feel comfy. I understand there is a language barrier so maybe they didn’t understand me fully as to why the lock wasn’t working, which is fine but I would’ve liked to have my room changed. As a solo female traveler it’s important to feel safe during your stay.
