Good location, staff was friendly.
The rooms and very dirty, they are small which was expected but this makes it very easy to scuff the walls which is understandable but there were clear dirt marks and stains on all the walls much higher than where a suitcase would hit. Also very clear construction patch marks that weren’t done very clean. Bathrooms also were not the most clean but doable. The staff did change our room to a cleaner room but wasn’t an amazing improvement. Also pretty sure the tap water downstairs got us all sick, it was the only thing we all had equally that made us feel ill. We didn’t drink it anymore after the first day, so go to the local store and stock up on waters yourself.

Friendly staff. Nice glass of bubbly on arrival. Nice and quiet hotel. Location ideal for access to Rembrandt square.
This is more of a gripe with the design of the rooms. All the doors and partition wall to the bathroom were all glass. Which we both thought rather strange and noisy.

Our stay at NYX Hotel Amsterdam Rembrandt Square was disappointing from start to finish and far below what one would expect from a hotel in Amsterdam.
We had booked two confirmed rooms, one for myself and one for my elderly father. Upon arrival, the reception informed us that due to a merger with a neighboring hotel, they planned to place us in two different buildings. This was unacceptable. I clearly explained that my father is elderly, does not speak English, and needs to stay close to me. Despite our confirmed reservation, the staff initially insisted this could not be changed.
After nearly 30 minutes of unnecessary stress and argument, the issue was resolved only thanks to the staff of the neighboring Leonardo Hotel, who showed professionalism and helped us get both rooms in the hotel we actually booked. This problem should never have occurred in the first place.
The second major issue was in room 366, where my father stayed. The heating system did not work properly. The air conditioning kept shutting down repeatedly. Over three days, I contacted reception around ten times. Each time, I was told it was fixed, and each time the system stopped working again. It was winter, Amsterdam was cold, and the room became freezing whenever the heating shut off. The issue was never properly resolved.
In room 383, where I stayed, housekeeping did not clean the room even once during our entire 3-day stay. When I asked about it, I was told that cleaning must be requested — which is already ridiculous. I requested it explicitly, and they even noted it down, yet the room was still not cleaned. Eventually, I had to go downstairs myself just to ask for towels.
One of the most unacceptable and frankly disgusting problems was the bathroom. The shower water did not drain at all, causing the bathroom to flood. Standing in dirty, stagnant water while showering is absolutely unacceptable. The situation felt unhygienic and unpleasant, and completely ruined the bathroom experience.

Ana, one of the Portuguese staff, took exceptional care of us, and there were lots of other very friendly experienced staff.
Some of the newer staff didn’t seem to know what to do or what was going on some of the time, and were slightly less warm and engaging.
Rooms are quite expensive for what you get. However we were very happy with our upgrade!

Employees really helpful. 24 hour store could buy treats (beer, soda, chips odds and ends) . PIZZA OVEN !! HOtel was clean. Easy to go to places we wanted to go, so good location. I would stay there again. Oh and the water refilling station. They also serve breakfast, which was quit a bit of food to choice from. Liked that there were entrances on both side of building.
My husband thought there should be a refrigerator in the room to keep drinks cold.
