On my first day, I was charged more than €400 extra. I only noticed it myself, and after I raised the issue, the hotel confirmed that it was a mistake and refunded the amount.
On the same day, I had another concerning experience. While I was inside my room during my private time, someone from the hotel team attempted to open my door without knocking first. I immediately contacted reception because this was a serious privacy concern. I was told it was a mistake and that they had intended to leave a gift in my room.
Regardless of the reason, hotel staff should always knock and ensure that the guest is aware before attempting to enter an occupied room. I also felt that the way my concern was initially handled could have been more professional and understanding.
Before my departure, the hotel provided a small gift as an apology, which I appreciated. However, considering the seriousness of entering a guest’s room without knocking, I expected the matter to be handled with greater care and professionalism.
Good hotel and location, but disappointing handling of guest privacy.

Only issue i had was at breakfast i git a coke , i tought they woukd add it to room . But a guy chased through the bar then at lobby with.card machine saying to pay for coke . Bit embarrassing. But overall a fantastic hotel

Warm and friendly greeting on check in, waiting staff were very helpful and friendly, rooms were very nice, we loved the stereo/radio, bed was super comfy, really nice experience definitely staying there again when we come to Amsterdam ?

Amazing location, I booked a room with a canal view and got upgraded to an executive room. Beautiful property, with everything you’d need to enjoy your stay in Amsterdam. I’ll definitely be back.
Bath towels were more on the smaller side.

Best location in Amsterdam and the staff, as always, was awesome!
I made the mistake of upgrading to a larger room than we usually book. The hotel has undergone a renovation since we were there four years ago. The larger room had a lot of space, but the configuration was confusing (the toilet was next to the entry door, which is quite a walk from the bed when you wake in the middle of the night to use it). The only seating (besides the bed and a rolling office chair) was a small, uncomfortable couch/sofabed. The television placement was odd and not at all conducive to watching while relaxing after a day of walking around the city.
