It was in an historical building which interesting.
The layout was very quirky, to where it was hard to figure out where certain rooms were located. Stairs going up into the hotel, and there was no one to help with luggage when we arrived.

My stay did not meet expectations whatsoever. To begin with, the air conditioning in the room was very poor and made the stay uncomfortable. Furthermore, I was deeply disappointed by the unhelpful and unwelcoming attitude of the front desk staff. I faced flight delays and asked for their cooperation to extend my check-out time. However, I was met with an entirely illogical demand: to pay the full price of a night just to extend my stay until 3:00 PM!
This kind of treatment shows a complete lack of flexibility and professional customer service. I expected a much higher standard of hospitality and appreciation for guests' circumstances.

Our room was nice and we enjoyed our stay. The bed was quite comfortable, the room was spacious and appreciated having a full-size desk. We enjoyed the Nespresso machine and a mini bar with waters and coke that were included. The buffet breakfast was very nice, decent variety and custom omelettes available on request. The staff was helpful and friendly, and the location was very convenient to Centraal station.
An outside view from the windows would've been nice but they did let in light. More electrical receptacles would have been convenient, but it is a (historic) older building and they were adequate.

The entire hotel is gorgeous, interesting, and historical, and does have elevators. Excellent bar and restaurant. About a 15 minute walk to any of the "hot spots" in Amsterdam, and only about 8 minute walk to Central Station. Quieter location than in the middle of the tourist areas.
The lighting in the room was dim. The carpet is due a replacement. There is no air conditioning, for our stay it was not necessary, but if we had been there a week or two earlier it would not have been tolerable. Unfortunately the pool and spa (which we were looking forward to!) is out of commission.

The staff were not friendly, but they were cooly efficient.
The beakfasts were oustanding with excellent special features like endless champagne, made-to-order egg dishes, lox, and endless cappuccino coffees.
The hotel is large with complex twists and turns with obscure signage. Easy to get lost.
The concierge service was hoplessly disorganized, confused, and error prone. This was a huge problem for us.
The attached restaurant was inadequate with a very poor selection, and amateurish delivery.

Very well positioned in the town, close enough to be in the city yet quiet and relaxing always outside. Great breakfast and accommodations. One night I was just too tired and ordered a burger it was amazing and room service was fast.
I have a bad ankle and there’s only stairs up to the hotel lobby. Was hard to get my luggage in or out but was great once it was all set!

Location, excellent breakfast buffet, comfortable bed.
No wifi in our room; should not have been assigned guests (and they knew wifi was under repair.) They offered a move plus room upgrade, but we were too tired to pack everything up at 10 pm. No hot water first morning there. Hotel is historic and a beautiful structure but needs some serious renovations, enhancements. Very expensive considering our circumstances.

The room was spacious and had a very comfortable bed.
The breakfast service was very disappointing. There was a tall blond staff member who ignored me on two occasions. The first time, I tried to ask for help finding a table instead of wandering around the breakfast area looking for a place to sit, but he completely ignored me. The second time, there were no coffee cups available at the coffee machine, and once again he ignored my request.
I eventually had to speak to him more firmly and point out that he had ignored me twice, asking him to please bring more cups. I was polite and respectful throughout, and I expect the same level of courtesy and professionalism from the staff. His attitude came across as arrogant and unwelcoming, which unfortunately had a negative impact on my experience. Room was difficult to find the room because the hotel layout felt like a maze.

Disappointing
The location and room
1. The staff making us pay for one breakfast on both days due to a typo from Booking.com
They could clearly see the same rate was given for all three rooms we booked for the two nights, same room type for all 3 rooms, 2 guests were registered per room but on one of the rooms, there was 1 Breaky included instead of two. They would not budge in this type error from you. It upset us all.
2. Our room not being ready until after 5pm when then we’re guaranteed for 3pm. We then asked for a free upgrade to another room and all they would offer is a downgrade to two beds instead of the king we reserved and putting us on the ground floor instead of the 4th.
3. They advertised the pool and hot tub would not be available but said the steam room would be but it was also closed. No facilities unless we went to another hotel to use theirs.
Just very disappointed with their unwillingness to accommodate us. Horrible customer service.

Amazing property and very historic feeling with tall ceilings and vintage design, staff is kind and accommodating, great WiFi, complimentary minibar.
Half of the tv channels didn’t work, because the building is vintage, the elevator is a bit scary to use. Price is a bit high for what is received.

The location was nice. The property itself was magnificent, a showplace of architectural style. Staff was very accommodating.
The only detriment I found was no air conditioning. If I’d gotten there a day earlier it was 98• F , would’ve been rather uncomfortable. Cash be a little noisy if your room is in the front of the building, but that was a non-issue for us.
