It was historic and our room was terrific. High ceilings. Very quiet. Breakfast was fabulous. Very efficient checkin.

Wonderful location walking distance to the train station. Restaurants, major tourist sites were all close at hand. The spa area was a pleasant surprise completely unexpected!! The hotel is a historical gem. It has so many unique and beautiful features it’s worth just wondering through it.

We loved this beautiful hotel. Its location is fantastic, convenient to restaurants, shops, the Centraal Station, bus, tram, ferry. It's in a quiet neighborhood. The older building of the Amrath has been maintained so well, i.e., carpets, staircases, art, furniture, light fixtures, bar, and restaurant. So nice! The gym was small but adequate for 2-4 people at a time. Our room was spacious. The bed was comfortable because of the topper. Our bathroom had been updated. The fridge was adequately stocked. The room had drawer and shelf space. I've never had so many lighting options (lamps, reading lights, hall).
The towels were thin and worn. The closet was very small. Getting to our lovely room was a maze. I don't think this hotel is wheelchair accessible. The reception desk with the computer screens made it awkward to talk to the staff. The pool in the spa was closed.

Robert met us at the front door and carried our luggage inside. He showed us to our room while telling us about the history of the hotel, which is full of charm and character. He also gave us some great tips for seeing around Amsterdam.
The breakfast was outstanding, as good as on our cruise.
The pool and hot tub were under maintenance, but they couldn’t help that.

Style, Food, Friendly Service
One day no water in the bathroom, next day water stopped flowing in the middle of a shower. Avoid 4th floor where water pressure is so low, at peak times, water flow stops. Plus very hot rooms in high summer temperatures.

The breakfast was great! it had many many choices. Fresh veggies every morning, which is great for europe. lots of ,eats and cheese and they make all sorts of omlettes for you. The staff is vary kind/ the location was very very good, close to Dam square ans to the central train station and metro.
the second day my room did not get cleaned even after i called the reception...

Fantastic location, stunning property, excellent breakfast and wonderful staff in every single department. The room rates are not cheap, but the experience was worth every cent. We really enjoyed our stay and will hopefully be back again someday!
There is nothing to dislike about the hotel, it is absolutely fabulous :)

The hotel interior feels dated and in need of renovation, particularly the room furniture. The electric blinds opened on their own twice, once at 9am and once at 8pm, disrupting sleep. The electrical plugs were also loose
