Loved the pillows, the breakfast, the staff and the location. The rooms were nice, however I understand the hotel has a lot of history and it would have been cool to also have option for a little intro or tour. The complimentary water, cola and waffles were super cool too!
The spa jacuzzi and steam sauna were out of order :/

The property is grand, if you love art deco and is very much in keeping of the period. Could be in a Agatha Christie novel. The room was lovely and I loved the high ceiling and the entrance separate to the bedroom. We had a lovely view of the canal. The bed could do with a new mattress as worn and felt bobbly. And the bathroom sink could do with a replacement as the sink maybe too worn to clean throughly. The shower was a bit temperamental in keeping a decent temperature as either too hot or too cold. The bath was lovely and deep. Takes a while to fill up. But worth it. The location was great and being our first visit to Amsterdam was easy enough to walk or get about from and too. The staff as friendly, approachable and helpful. Thank you Immanuel for the suggestions on places to visit. We loved the market that locals enjoy, which you recommended. Oh and the breakfast is lovely and in their beautiful dining room a must have if staying and good for setting you up for the day. The bar was cosy and quaint. It is an old property and we loved our stay.

Breakfast was exceptional & staff in the restaurant & bar area very polite and helpful. Location for sights and train station. Art deco style hotel.
We were a party of 4 and had booked two rooms for four nights to celebrate a friends important birthday and when we arrived at 11am we checked in and was told our rooms would be ready at 3pm. We returned later that day at 5pm after sight seeing but was told only one room was ready. We had to wait a further 20 mins for the second room to be ready. one of our rooms had a separate shower and bath in but the other room had a bath with shower over. We had to move room after first day as shower over the bath was not suitable for us and the second room allocated was noisy as located by the lift area. Having to ask for fridge to be replenished with soft drinks and towels to be replaced. We were very disappointed the the jacuzzi was out of order in the spa area as this was one of the reasons we booked the Hotel. No compensation was offered by the hotel for the delay at check in or for the jacuzzi being out of order.

Location was great,close to central train station. Staff were friendly and attentive Breakfast was very fresh and plentiful. The pool,gym and steam room /sauna were lovely,clean and not too busy.

The room was huge with a very large 2 sink and soaker tub along with shower bathroom, twin beds and a desk and roomy sitting area
The elevator was slow as were the cleaning staff - often our room was being cleaned after returning from the day of sightseeing. The cleaning staff was mediocre leaving soiled towels, no wiping of tables and no vacuuming of the carpets. Perhaps they need a few more which might be an interim problem. The room was clean and fresh on arrival.
