We booked this hotel through Booking.com on the same day while traveling from Brussels to Amsterdam. The reservation was confirmed, and at the time of booking, there were still several rooms available (around five).
However, when we arrived at the hotel in the evening (around 6 PM, after some difficulty finding the location), the receptionist informed us that our booking had been cancelled due to a “system glitch” and that the hotel was actually fully booked. This was extremely surprising and disappointing.
Before our turn, we saw an elderly couple experiencing the same issue. After insisting, they were eventually given a room, while we were simply refused. The receptionist handled the situation quite casually and did not show much sense of responsibility or urgency, which made the experience even worse.
If the hotel was truly full, the booking should have been cancelled immediately after it was made not after guests had already arrived.
As first time visitors to Amsterdam, this left us in a very difficult situation. We were tired from traveling and suddenly had no place to stay. Returning to Brussels was not an option, and finding another hotel last-minute was stressful.
Unfortunately, the situation did not end there. When we tried to book another hotel using our Visa card, the payment could not go through because the amount was still on hold by Element Amsterdam. We contacted the hotel by email and were told to reach out to Booking.com. However, it was very difficult to get proper assistance, as we could only reach automated responses.
We then called the hotel again and asked them to update the cancellation status in their system. The same receptionist said she would do it, but the booking status remained “confirmed,” and the issue was not resolved.
Thankfully, we managed to transfer funds from our USD account to EUR, which allowed us to book another hotel but this added unnecessary stress and inconvenience.

The studio had fully furnished kitchen with everything needed to prepare a meal. The bed was really comfy and the bathroom was spacious with good ventilation. The room was quiet, and overall it was great. The breakfast was delicious and offered a variety of choices.

Clean, comfortable, close Zuid stations and buses. 5m train ride to Schiphol Airport. Approximately 15m ride to city centre by train. Groceries and various food places are nearby. Quiet neighbourhood and you can hire cycle from hotel. Love the breakfast as well, we were relieved to drop our bags before check in and check out.

The bed was amazingly comfortable! Super clean room and a great variety at breakfast. (Eggs were a bit disappointing, powdered eggs I believe).
Staff were very kind. Parking price is pretty reasonable and the metro was only about a 15min walk. So easy access to Amsterdam city.
You can rent bicycles for €18 a day.
Coffee was not the best, very strong coffee beans (more for espresso than any other coffee).

Clean and welcoming hotel situated in a lovely mall with access to lots of grocery stores, restaurants and cafes.
Beds aren’t comfortable unfortunately, made sleep very choppy for all of us.

The rooms were really well organized and exactly as shown in the pictures
The staff goofed up a bit, when I asked for a breakfast basket to be prepared for ramadan, the day 1 they packed pork sandwiches which is not at all appropriate, though they said it was a mistake and the boxes were swapped, its just the worst thing you could to do a practicing muslim during Ramadan

The staff was very friendly and helpful, room and the entire hotel in general was great - comfortable and clean.
The breakfast options for vegetarians was very limited. Would have also been nice to have more selection of fruits other than whole apples and oranges.
