The location was good, shower was nice.
The check in & check out process took too long, need a reception specific area not the bar. Was unable to change room temperature so room too warm. Bed lumpy & too soft. The noise was bad. Day they did recycling they woke us up at 6am and then trash last night was loud.

The hotel is a beautiful, old building. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and efficient. Beds were comfortable.
While there was a great deal to like about this hotel, it suffered from a major shortcoming: no air-conditioning. Our room was uninhabitable when we arrived. Two fans were subsequently delivered. These fans made it possible to sleep. This is not at all what I expected from a facility that describes itself as a "small, luxury hotel".

Wonderful
Canal House is charming. Beautiful, old world vibe. The staff was wonderful. The room, one of their smallest, felt like an attic room. We were only there one night. The bed was super comfortable and the room overlooked the courtyard so it was very quiet. It was hot in Amsterdam, so we had the windows open and a fan going. It is an old house that has been repurposed, so it comes with the usual funnies. It is not a chain hotel. Our local friends said it is on what is considered the most beautiful canal. Very close to the train station.
There are no USB ports, but they brought up a bin of adapters and we were able to find what we needed to plug in all our devices. The stairs are tricky, but they handled the luggage.

This is the second time I have stayed here and I will be back. This is my hotel of choice in Amsterdam. Comfort, location, staff all are amazing. Also a very cool little boutique hotel.
This time ny shower tub was not separate from sleeping arra. 1st time I stayed it was. I let them know that next time this is important to me and they added it to my file, great staff. I should mention I came on a whim and they had my room ready very early from the time I booked at airport it was ready when I arrived.

The staff, the location and the ambiance was amazing.
It was a pleasure to stay here, but to be frank the breakfast was a bit poor considering it’s a 4* hotel in Europe.

Gathering room was comfortable
Room was very small, dark and tub/shower were in the bedroom right next to the bed. Sinks were at the foot of the bed. Small dark toilet room just inside the door. Floor space so limited that my clamshell suitcase could only open directly in entry in front of small closet leaving no room to walk. Circuitous path to get to room, up stairs and through the kitchen and dining room to an elevator and then up more stairs to dark hallway. For over 400 euros per night we expected a nicer and more functional room!

The location was very nice. The breakfast was alright.
We were given a room in the basement with an outside sitting area. We didn’t come to Amsterdam to sit in a courtyard.
We traveled with friends and they had a beautiful room on the second floor. I believe we paid the same price. We wouldn’t stay there again.
