The slow lift

Parking was a bit of issue there but other than that everything was smooth.

I booked this hotel just for one night before I moved to an Airbnb that had I booked from the next day. What was shocking too me was that the room offered no late checkout which I found out on arrival, when it was too late too cancel. I am an insomniac so I always book this just in case in every hotel, on arrival. I was told there will be no late checkout because they are fully booked, but when I checked their website in the very late evening there was some rooms free so it was a lie. So when I couldn't sleep in the morning around 6am, I called reception to ask again for the late checkout since the was some rooms free (or simply to ask for my room to be done last so I have a little extra time), the guy on the phone said I could have the room until 2pm so I was very happy, I didn't even care how much this will cost me. But just when I was falling asleep, (and took a strong sleeping pill...) I got a call to my room around 8am saying I cannot have late check out and have to leave at 11am... I was so tired, I had a long day traveling to Amsterdam to London, tried to sleep for ages, just took a prescription sleeping pill which I am meant to take only when I know I can sleep 6-8hrs... And just been informed that I have to leave the room in 3hours. I managed to sleep a bit but this has left traumatised, I tried to get up and leave, but was still under the sleeping pill it was absolutely horrific experience. They kept calling and knocking on the door while I was trying to get ready as fast as I can while barely functioning. I was a zombie all day, with my mood lowest of the lowest I have ever been in my life on holiday. It was meant to be pleasant start of the holiday but it was absolutely horrible, first day completely ruined. I was so, so glad to get to the Airbnb after, and never want to come back to this hotel again. Another thing is the fact that there was no privacy in the bathroom...

The “do not disturb” button was not working, and we got a housekeeper even though we didn’t ask for it. The next room’s door was very close to us so whenever they entered/exited their room, we thought someone was trying to enter our room. But we didn’t think these were big problems, since everything else was superb.

The smell of the drainage coming up in the bathroom as had room under ground level smelt like sewage
