We checked into our room late in the evening, tired after a long day. The next morning, when we had a proper look around the room, we found a lip liner, a torn paper admission ticket, and a large clump of hair.
This was so shocking that I immediately lost confidence in the cleanliness of the room, and we even started wondering whether the bed linen had actually been freshly washed before we slept in it. Since the room itself was also in a rather worn condition, I seriously question the overall standard of cleanliness at this property.
We informed reception, and I brought down the used lip liner and the torn ticket (I had instinctively thrown away the clump of hair), explaining that we felt extremely uncomfortable about the situation. We were told that the room would be thoroughly cleaned.
In my opinion, that should have been done before our arrival. It is completely unacceptable to find rubbish and personal items left behind by the previous guest. I think it is entirely reasonable to question whether any proper cleaning had taken place at all before we checked in.
Another issue is the communal living and dining area. It sounds very appealing in the description — a place where guests can sit down at any time, relax for a while, or have something to eat. In reality, however, we were rarely able to find anywhere to sit. This was not only the case in the afternoon, but even at breakfast. On two out of three mornings, there were no tables available at all, so we eventually chose to go elsewhere for breakfast.
Beautiful design alone is not enough if it is not matched by proper hospitality.

Breakfast a bit awkward with everyone walking around taking plates to sink and opening the fridge etc. Also some guests who are just 2 people take the 4 seater table and sat there for a long time so if you are a group of 4 you can only get 2 seater tables

The room we were first given looked nothing like the photos online. After spending the first night there, we spoke to Liz at reception, who listened carefully and moved us to a room that truly met our expectations. Thank you, Liz! :)
The all-day snack offering was fantastic — I didn’t realize it could be this useful during the day. Prices are a bit on the high side, but I suppose it helps maintain the quality of the guest experience.

The townhouse concept and location are great, and the complimentary 24/7 snacks, drinks, and wine are a lovely touch. However, the rooms are extremely small for two people, with barely enough space for luggage. The hotel needs updating: the air conditioning and bathroom ventilation are poor, the shower curtain smelled musty and allowed water to splash everywhere, and the curtains felt old and dusty. There is also no doorman, so guests must carry their luggage up the stairs. For almost £800 for three nights, I expected more comfort and space. It may be suitable for one person, but two guests should book the largest room available or it will feel like a box.

Such a nice stay here! Love the small boutique feel with the communal breakfast space. It felt relaxed, calm and very comfortable. Gym was beautiful with the best treadmill. I would definitely recommend this stay.
