Complicated airport shuttle from the airport: first one shuttle to another hotel nearby and then another one to the final destination. The rereception at the first location has to be asked to call the driver.

The comfortable room made it a good stop for one night after a late arrival at the airport.
The directions took us to the hotel instead of the hostel, however the hotel arranged for a shuttle to take us to the right hostel, which was very convenient, yet further out...

The shower
There is a shuttle from the airport to the hotel, but it’s not a direct shuttle, you have to change at a different hotel. From the hotel to the airport is direct.
They also don’t have any elevators and with a stroller and a lot of luggage is inconvenient.

It’s ok, the décor was ok, the person at the front desk was nice and helpful.
The bedroom wasn’t properly cleaned, there where a stick spot in the toilet and close to the bed, also the brow bedframe had to many greasy hand marks, just to walk around my socks got very dirty, but the bed was clean and comfortable.

The staff were very nice and friendly.
I had a room with a king sized bed. When I got there, the pillows were placed in the middle of the bed. When I got into bed, I realized the blankets only pull up to half way. So, I slept toward the bottom half of the bed with tons of space above my head. This felt weird and was not conducive to a good night’s sleep. When I tried to sit up against the wall to read before going to bed I couldn’t pull the covers up to me because they weren’t long enough.
I got in at night so I wasn’t able to see if it would have been a nice view or nice lighting outside. But, it felt like a dingy. It was a long way to my room from the reception area walking through multiple hallways, and the halls were very dark. There were automatic lights that would turn on when you walk by but it was disconcerting until they turned on.

Bus shuttle, 2 buses ... Breakfast 18 Euro too expensive... Amsterdam transport very expensive and bus do not go into city, so you need to catch a tram on top, more costs ... Weather poor !

As frequent visitor to Bastion i was hoping that this location was also worth visiting, but was extremely disappointed
The stuff was not at all service minded, breakfast was horrible and seriously food overpriced!!! Furthermore music from the neighborhood didn’t stop til 2am so it was impossible to rest!
The stuff was not even friendly to communicate, especially the lady at checkout

The Bastion is a 1980s style no frills hotel. But the staff is excellent and helpful, and it is next to a large nature reserve which was great for walking after a long flight. I would stay again.
The shuttle was confusing. One message from the hotel was to wait for an orange van. The orange van apparently doesn't do airport pick up, so this caused a bit of confusion and delays after a long flight. Otherwise, I had a very good experience

DO NOT STAY HERE. Please save your money and DO NOT stay here. Extremely unpleasant stay, leaving me to find a new place to sleep at 3am. The room was in an appalling state: The floor was visibly dirty, with dust, hair, and debris.There was makeup left in the closet —(the closet is open format, so this was highly visible when you entered the room) a clear sign the room had not been properly cleaned. The shower walls were stained and unclean. Most disturbingly, there was a spider inside the comforter and another crawling on the wall. It was extremely unhygienic. In addition, the condition of the hallways was similarly poor, adding to the feeling of neglect and lack of care. The room was uninhabitable and highly neglected. My flight arrived at A1am and at 3:00 AM, I attempted to speak with reception, but no staff member was available. A kind gentleman working the breakfast shift tried to help but stated he had no authority and attempted to contact management. However, no one answered at that hour. This left me stranded in the middle of the night, in a foreign country not able to speak the language, without a safe or clean place to stay. I have attached photo evidence of the conditions described. I have reached out to the hotel and booking.com but Bastion hotels has failed to respond to either of us despite many calls and emails. However, Bastion was very responsive when I initially emailed them prior to my stay confirming someone will be at the reception to check me in at 2am. Please save your money and do no stay here.

I liked the spacious double bed
We arrived at the hotel quite late and noticed that there was no one at the reception desk. After a few minutes, a young woman appeared, seemingly in no rush and finishing her meal. Unfortunately, the initial impression wasn’t very welcoming — she seemed somewhat indifferent and mentioned she was very busy.
When we requested a baby crib, she informed us it would take about 45 minutes. However, even after that time passed, we had to call the reception (no answer) and eventually go downstairs ourselves to remind her. It gave the impression that she wasn’t very enthusiastic about her work.
The room itself left much to be desired in terms of cleanliness — we found a significant amount of dust, dirt, and crumbs under the bed.
