Total disorganization! We had to change rooms three times during a four-night stay. We informed the hotel that we would be arriving late, and when we arrived they gave us a room three floors below the one we had booked. Then they moved us to a room below street level and finally to another one that was “similar” to the one we had booked. The photos do not correspond to reality at all! A complete disappointment, and a total rip-off.

The location was perfect, hotel was decorated nicely and the rooms too, the rooms are very small especially the bathrooms, given the cost her night, but apparently that’s what it’s like in Amsterdam. Our room was right on the main room and was extremely noisy when trying to sleep, they did provide ear plugs but they didn’t work. I think extra glazing may be needed.

The excellent location and the friendly welcome. Breakfast was good although the coffee machine was rather mean.
The main problem was having no power in the bedroom when returning to the hotel and again in the morning. It was rectified promptly however.

Staff were super helpful and check-in could not have been smoother. Being located next to the Rijksmuseum made exploring the city easy especially for canal cruises. Our room had excellent views over the museum and canal. The ambiance of the bar was relaxing and breakfast was 4 star!

The location only
When we arrived the room was infested with ants and we needed to be moved rooms twice more before we were able to have a room without significant numbers of ants infesting the carpet and even the bedsheet. To get to this point we were fobbed off by reception staff and were misled into believing there were no alternative rooms. When we pressed them, it transpired that there were in fact alternative rooms but they couldn’t be bothered to address the issue and only did something because we had insisted. The hotel evidently has an ant infestation as we moved from the lower ground to the fourth floor in our room moves and the issue occurred in each of the three rooms we experienced. On the lower ground floor there was also a very strong smell of sewerage, so presumably there was an issue with the drains too.

Poor quality breakfast, only one coffee machine working resulting in long queues at peak times , food items not replenished quick enough so long waiting times , tables left messy as not enough staff working during busy periods.

Breakfast was poor - the selection is limited and not replenished enough. Each morning we had to wait for plates and for more food to become available.
