Everything was perfect. We arrived and they welcomed us so well, they are friendly and helpful. They recommend lots of things to us, gave us introduction to being in Amsterdam, mentioned about all the details about our stay. They offered us a welcome drink, the hot drinks are free as well. The room was so clean and spacious, there were towels, travel kit (sewing kit, shampoo, lotion, etc.), water, apple and chocolate. The balcony is great, and the view from the balcony was so peaceful. It was silent as well. They are ofc daily cleaning the room on your request, we didn't want to but we requested fresh towels. Everyone was so friendly, we really enjoyed the stay. the location is amazing, there are cafes, supermarkets and many more things around. there is a tram stop in front of the hotel, so it was easy to arrive as well. One last note, as you can imagine there is no elevator so you need to take the stairs, they helped us to carry the bags when we arrived, thank you! Keep in mind that you will carry your bags, you can request lower floors.
I like everything

Poor
As other reviews have mentioned, the staff is welcoming and helpful. Apples on the beds and chocolates on the pillows are a nice touch. Access to public transportation is great, with a tram stop right in front of the hotel. The room was small but clean and nicely appointed, with two comfortable single beds. There was a small refrigerator. The bathroom had a Jacuzzi tub with two shower heads above. Toiletries, a hair dryer and a lighted magnifying mirror were present. The room had a nice balcony with a table and two chairs.
Negatives: There was no way to adjust room temperature. I was there in early fall. The lack of air conditioning was not an issue, but since the radiator furnace was not on, there was no way to warm the room. The wifi was ok. Posted hotel policy requests that no visitors allowed in the room. There is no elevator and the stairs are very steep. There are 68 steps to the fourth floor rooms. Above the second floor, all of the treads are triangular, as the staircase is an elongated, four story spiral interrupted by several small landings. The treads are about one foot in depth at the wall, less in the center where one walks. Traversing these steps, especially with luggage is difficult. The stairway lights, one per floor, are on motion sensors. This isn’t a problem when ascending, as one’s presence turns in the light for the flight above. Unfortunately, this is not the case when going down, and the flight below is in darkness until one descends enough to trigger the motion sensor - about half the flight. Most concerning was the lack of a secondary fire escape route. I was told that in case of fire I should wait until someone came to rescue me. I was very uncomfortable sleeping in a room where, if there was fire and/or smoke in the stairwell, I had no other means of escape. At best, one would be racing down a very steep, dark (motion sensor controlled) stairwell. This could be remedied if there were a fire escape from the balcony. Overall, this is a clean and welcoming budget hotel with structural design issues. Because of my concerns, I would not stay here again.

Wonderful
Staff was great and friendly. Free hot drinks at the lobby. Great coffee. Great recommendations from the receptionist. Room and hotel was very clean. Bathroom were nicely renovated.
Room was EXTREMELY small. It was loud, because of trams outside. You needed to have windows open, because ventilation was not great.

We had a very pleasant stay. The location was great, the internet worked well, and most importantly, everything was very clean. The reception staff were very friendly, especially the gentleman working in the afternoon, who helped us a lot with the information we needed. I highly recommend this place.

Disappointing
Unfortunately, we were woken up by loud drilling noises in the morning due to ongoing renovations at the hotel. It was impossible to sleep with the constant construction sounds. In addition, the rooms are poorly soundproofed — we could hear everything from the hallway and the neighboring rooms. Every time a door opened or closed outside, it was very noticeable inside the room.

We liked everything from the very first moment we entered the hotel. We received a very warm welcome from Mr. Tahir, who explained everything about our stay, including the best places to visit and the best areas for lunch or dinner. He also had tickets available for various tours. Complimentary warm drinks (tea, coffee, etc.) are available at any time. Highly recommended for a perfect stay in Amsterdam!
The bathroom is a bit small, but it's perfectly fine for a short stay.

Very Good
The location of the property was great. The room was very clean. Enjoyed having a balcony with our room.
Even though it was a triple room, the room was too small for our family of three. It would have been fine for two people, but for three people and their luggage on an extended trip through Europe, it was a bit tight.

Good
The balcony
Originally, I was put on the top floor of this building, which constitute approximately 60 steps in each direction. I’m a senior citizen and this was just not possible. After a bit of a confrontation, they did accommodate me with a much better room that was acceptable and things worked out fine

The receptionist was fantastically helpful - without him we would not have made our flight on time. He also gave us great recommendations for dining, sightseeing, and exploring during our stay. The room was pristine, perfectly clean - keep in mind they are not huge. We were spending the whole day outside biking around and only wanted a comfortable place to rest our heads at night. Some steep stairs to climb to your room so make sure you are careful. The location is central, very convenient, but with some noise from the traffic outside. However when you close your window, it is quiet. And if you need earplugs, they have provided them. The beds were so comfortable, great quality mattress and light blocking shades. They held our bags for early check in and we could get complimentary coffee in the lobby in the morning. If we came back, we would definitely stay here again. The amenities and price are great but the service really puts the Alp over the top. 5/5
Only that we could not stay longer and explore more parts of Amsterdam!

We find the staff to be helpful and very accommodating, the location is excelent, the little balcony in our bedroom was very nice. The beds and pillows are very good, and cleanliness is outlstanding.
The stairs are very steep, and if the staff hadnt carried our luggage, we couldn't have taken it upstairs to our room.

staff was amazing, genuine and helpful. There's no elevator in this 4 floor walk up but the staff is always willing to help with luggage. Nur gave us loads of tips about getting around the area and into City Center which is 20 minutes by numerous trams close by.

The hotel was lovely, clean and modern, staff were helpful and friendly, the room on the 1st night on the 4th floor was large and airy, with everything we needed. we both slept well in the clean comfy beds and enjoyed watching Dam from the high window.
The second night we had booked a different room which was on 1st floor, much smaller but had a small balcony, which was a treat. Found the room a little 'snug', but not a complaint as all else was as excellent as the 1st room had been. The 4th floor using the stairs was difficult and a lift would have been a bonus, the gent on the desk did explain that lifts are rare in Dam.

It was all fab, great hotel, comfy beds and very friendly helpful staff. spotlessly clean, all mod cons, bright rooms, luxury bathrooms, thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
we moved to the 1st floor for the 2nd night and the room was smaller and had difficulty getting in/out of the bed because of my arthritis, would not recommend for older people although the fewer stairs and small balcony were a bonus so didn't detract from our stay, still clean and very comfortable.
