The staff are very friendly, reception manned 24 hours a day and always available to help with recommendations and travel queries. Free hot drinks available in reception area.
It is a little outside the main canal area. Its walkable and a safe area, but we took the tram back in the evenings in most days.

Very good location, close to tram, great coffees, bakerys, restaurants and bars, and yet not too crowded. Perfectly clean, modest but comfortable. Great hosts, helpful and polite. The terrace is amazing and cozy. Would definitely recommend for couples.
Staircase is a bit steep, need to be careful. Recommendation for the great hosts: would be nice to add couple of more towel hangers in the bathroom.

Had a delightful stay at alp hotel - a charming building that truly immersed us in the local experience. The balcony was a lovely touch, and the location couldn't be more convenient. With a trams stop right outside, exploring the city was a breeze, and walking around was equally easy. The picturesque canals near the hotel added to the pleasant atmosphere, and having an AH supermarket and restaurants nearby was a bonus. The standout was the exceptionally friendly staff, especially the person with the big eyes, who warmly welcomed us and shared valuable Amsterdam travel tips on the day of our arrival. Truly attentive and courteous service!

Although it was a small space we lacked nothing. The service was incredible. Each time our room got cleaned we also received fresh apples and chocolates as well as a restock on water and any other misc things such as tea and coffee bags, sugar, even more chocolate etc. It is close enough to walk to the city center and also has a lot of awesome places to visit really close, such as restaurants and shops.
