Wonderful
Staying at Casa Lucia was like being at home with family. They were very welcoming, hospitable, and accommodating. The rooms were spacious and well equipped, with AC as well as electric fans. It was helpful to be able to store a few things in the fridge overnight before our very early departure.

This was a traditional B&B where you actually are staying with a family - in this case a very friendly and helpful family. In addition to a comfortable room with A/C, TV, and private bath they served and excellent breakfast. Best of all was the informative and free ranging conversation over breakfast. Staying in Casa Lucia definitely helps you experience more of Nicaragua and have some in depth interactions with Nicaraguans. Also, the location is nice in the cities small Zona Rosa with some restaraunts, stores and bars nearby, though it is mainly residential.
Two things potential guests should be aware of 1) it not really an official hotel, it is a private house in a residential neighborhood. Hence taxi drivers will not know where it is and there are no signs on the house saying it is "Casa Lucia". Be aware of that and make sure you have good GPS or directions to find the place and 2) as it is a private house and family you probably don't want to arrive back too late as someone is staying up to let you in. 10 or 11 pm was fine I was told but later than that would feel like imposing so if you really want to stay out late this could be an issue.
