Generally speaking fine business hotel. Nice staff, nice pool (too cold as usual in Africa even in the warm season when I was there, but once adapted, very nice ;), decent breakfast. Oh an very rare but excellent - when I asked for a decent coffee - cappuccino in my case - at brekky, I did not only get one, but for free. Most hotels make you pay for that, but this hotel knows how to make customers happy! Would the hotel be suited for a holiday stay? Well, yes, but I'd say only as starting point for a Namibia holiday. Namibia is an amazing country with very friendly and helpful citizens, but that's all outside Windhoek. Windhoek itself takes at most a day to see, there's really nothing overly exciting there - but this hotel is great to arrive and acclimatise - and then go out and enjoy this fantastic country!
Solve the naming and location confusion please :) I booked in the Mercure hotel, but then had to walk across for the Mvenpick hotel (horrible name anyway, it's also an ice-cream brand - but I guess this chain name works to attract Germans :), to find in my room everywhere that it is the Safari-something hotel. Amusing, but I'd say better branding would help ;) But if that was all my critique, then it's not a big issue clearly!

Breakfast was good, room was big and wifi worked well, also in room.
I reserved in Mercure hotel but when I arrived they put me in another hotel just in front, called Mowenpick although breakfast was in the Mercure building. Only the reception area has been modernised, but the rooms are very old and definitely need renovation. The hotel is quite far from city centre.

The pool at the mercure was really nice and maintained well. All the staff were really friendly and the pizza from the pizza oven at the restaurant at Safari court were really nice, reasonably priced. The food was also delicious that we had poolside too. Rooms were comfy and a large size. Love there was full length mirrors. We returned here after our safari as we enjoyed it. The staff, Ronaldo and the lady whose daughter is called blessing, sorry cant remember her name, both staff were lovely and a real credit to the restaurant. Ronaldo had an incredible memory.

Love the size of the room, very spacious and lots of mirrors which is handy for 2 women sharing a room to get ready. The pool was a lovely space. The food was excellent, we had lunch by the pool, pizza for tea with their pizza oven and breakfast, all great value and taste. Actually really impressed. All staff we encountered were lovely too.
Some of the cocktail options werent available.

The room allocated to me is a room under renovation, Room 50, I spent 2 nights and they didnt even clean up the room. I called the attention of the staffs tk it and no one responded to my complaints.
I was given a blocked room under renovation and was charged full amount of a normal room.
