The place was dirty

Where di I start. We booked for five but there was only bedding for four. One of the single beds have wholes in the base. You cannot sleep on that. The extractor fan in bathroom does not work. We ran out of electricity during the night. Owner does not keep his hand on the place. Remembet only aircon in sittingroom. Nothing, not even fans in bedrooms. Very dissapointing.

The Internet connection

Was not cleaned 100% . Oven dirty the entire appartement was full of smoke

The check-in process was poor. Despite getting confirmation of early check-in, I arrived and was told to hang around the building for 3 hours. No reception or waiting area. When I finally returned, it took almost 10 mins of knocking to get the host to open the door. He was inside the apartment, perhaps sleeping. The beddings were unironed; towels were damp; no toiletries. There was a stench in the open plan lounge. Turned out it was from a dirty, wet mopstick in the kitchen closet. No bin liners. No dishwashing liquid. No air-conditioning or fans in the bedrooms - in 40c weather it was quite uncomfortable.i had to sleep on the floor of the living room where there was an AC. No adaptors for table/standing lamps in the bedroom/living room. No work desk in the apartment, and no electric socket near the dining table which could have been used as a work station. The electric kettle trips off the electricity in the unit so was unusable. The unit ran out electricity at 10pm and it took almost 30 minutes for the host to top up. I had to call local colleagues who managed to top up the electricity before the host reverted. There was just a lack of attention to basic details. Booking.com should have a basic checklist for private apartments listed on its platform. I left early. I have not had such an underwhelming experience since the days of Couchsurfers (a generation ago).
