We stayed at Cozy Living Sky Apartment, Kota Kinabalu for 4 days and 3 nights. The unit was generally comfortable, but the location is not within walking distance to the town area, so transport is needed to get around.
We initially faced an issue with a damaged sofa in the first unit. The operator responded well and upgraded us to a bigger unit at no extra cost, which we appreciated. The new unit had a good sofa, but unfortunately one of the queen-size mattresses was also damaged, which affected comfort during the stay.

The location was just right, close to the malls but still away from the traffic. The apartment had hot water and kitchen stuff was complete and clean.
We came and the outside toilet stink really bad, like it smell from an animal poo or pee. My husband had to deep clean the toilet for us to be able to use it.

- Apparently, we were staying at a dangerous part of the town according to grab drivers. - The accommodation is quite rundown and dated as compared to the picture. - The person communicating with you is not great at English/communicating. We requested to store our luggage first before checking in which she replied it was possible (this was requested a few days before and even confirmed the day before). Upon reaching the accommodation, she took very long to reply & told us to wait for clean up. We just wanted to store our luggage and not check in. It was quite unpleasant.

- Location is good, everything is easily accessible by Grab. - The apartment has essentials, a/c works well.
- The actual condition was worse than advertised. - The shower has low water pressure, the faucet is hard to use, and the sink drain is missing (this is allowing insects to come in). - One wall is covered with notes, rules and fines - making the space feel unwelcoming. - Overbearing owner! Two days upon arrival I received a msg by WhatsApp. She wanted a prepayment by bank transfer. I told her that I’m not being able to transfer money. Then she wanted cash, no credit card possible. This was not advertised, so I wasn’t prepared. She said ‘no worries, once you have exchanged the money, you let me know’. She texted me 4-5x in 3 days to see when she can pick up the money. Very annoying when you want a relaxing vacation. - Towel incident - when she came to pick up the money and to bring some new towels she sent me a photo with the message that two towels are missing. (We were using the towels on the beach) Pls change the payment method to cash or bank transfer only and change that prepayment is needed instead of not needed.

Needs some work done to update and maintain property, e.g. floorboards coming apart, uncomfortable sofa. Kitchen equipment not adequate to prepare a meal, couldn’t even eat cereal- bowls provided but no spoons!

The place was clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated! I really enjoyed my stay. The only downside was the limited pots and pans for cooking. Other than that, everything was great! Will repeat with Aj Homestay ?

Lovely clean and spacious apartment in a modern hotel complex. Entry instructions ultra clear and great and rapid communication with the owners
