Very Good
The quiet, the very pleasant staff especially Orfe she helped us secure a driver and offered much information to make our stay pleasant. The restaurants nearby were very good in addition to the 2 on the property.
The different arm bands was a bit confusing.

Really cool jungle vibes. Nice beach with loungers. The reception staff was very welcoming.
The 2 restaurants on site are not great. The food is overpriced and the portions are very small. The staff is also quite rude and slow for service. We tried other restaurants nearby (Cinco and Mezzanine) which offered better service and better food. You also need a car to get around otherwise you have to pay an absurd amount for a taxi.

I have to say the people that worked there were the highlight. They were always warm, friendly, and always met our needs.
There was nothing I didnt like.

We had a beach front room and it was perfection with a comfortable bed and a stunning view. So quiet and calm - only the sound of the crashing waves. No tv or fridge but that was a-okay for me. Simple and relaxing. It was a dream and I'll for sure go back!
I seriously have no complaints. The staff were lovely and helpful, there when you needed them. The whole experience felt like tremendous value to me. Worth every penny. I did not want to leave!

Amazing location, a short walk from the Mayan ruins. As it is now inside a national park we felt like we had our own private bungalow in paradise. I had no expectations before going but was really pleasantly surprised at how great it was for this price. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout. Big thanks to the guys next door who run the boat tours who were great and were really flexible when we had some weather and had to change dates. The breakfasts were big and tasty. I would happily go back for a longer trip.
We ate dinner at other restaurants a short walk away (Casa Maria was excellent) as we didn’t hear good things about the two restaurants on site and they were both empty at night. But we didn’t eat there so can’t really comment.

Wonderful
I stayed here Dec 2025 and Feb 2026, both considered off season. The property is right on Tulum Beach in Jaguar National Park and is absolute paradise.
The place is pretty small- about 40 rooms/ bungalows- with friendly and helpful staff. With daily sunrise yoga and breakfast included, I barely felt the need to leave the property. Daily yoga with Brenda was a highlight for me, and why I returned to the same property 2 months later!
I think all of the rooms are quite different, as I saw complaints about the bathrooms not offering privacy. Both times I stayed in beachside bungalows that had a closing door to the bathroom, that were large, clean and comfortable. The rooms don’t have TVs, which I appreciated, and WiFi is strong near the restaurants and entrance, and sporadic in the bungalows. Download your ebooks/ things to watch!
The restaurant staff remembered me (today was Gerardo, Gustavo and Victoria), and the front desk people as well. Edgar said “welcome home” when I checked in this time. I saw complaints about the food so thought I’d mention that you get to choose anything off the breakfast menu, and the portions are generous. You also get juice (typically melon or piña) and coffee. I’ll add pics.
The prices on Tulum Beach are like US prices- pretty high. You’re only a few miles from the town, grocery stores, and many restaurants, and some rent bicycle. Renting a car is cheap and convenient.
You can visit the ruins nearby, or walk the beach daily with very little attention/ disturbances from people selling things. I snorkeled one day (only 200 pesos if you walk down the beach to the locals), and though the reef isn’t very healthy, there were turtles, rays and some colorful fish! They also offer massages and facials on- site. Many couples visit here, and young families- mostly European.
I love Hotel Pocna, which is why I wrote such a long review!
Though it’s not their fault, all of the different charges can be frustrating. There are so many government agencies requiring money that you pay taxes, environmental fees, national park fees, archaeological fees, etc all separately. Lots of wristbands!
I’d love to have a refrigerator in the room, a clothesline (my room had one the first time), and signs to remind people to never flush toilet paper in Mexico (we had a clog on my first stay).

Pleasant
The jungle atmosphere, very quiet, great sand, breakfast was good
LOTS of seaweed, pool was older "on ground" style, quite small - Drinks although good were expensive as well as food BUT I think that's everywhere in Mexico The staff were NOT friendly at the bar - almost like they were annoyed you were there.

Gorgeous, in the jungle, right on the beach. Great breakfast included! We had a beachfront suite which was wonderful.
We liked everyone, but it was very pricey!

Very Good
It was right on the beach, yoga was off were weekday mornings. It’s close to the Tulum archaeological sites. I like the restaurant on site that provided daily breakfast and it also had a Japanese restaurant. It is also nearby other hotels in which you can experience other cuisines such as Thai and Italian food.
The daily fee to be in the Parque National. Amenities such as a rides were provided within the park, but it was not as frequent as they said. If you want to go into town shopping, it is a taxi ride around $20 American.

It is not the hotel's fault, but everywhere in Tulum food is extremely expensive. It is ridiculous and makes it hard to have a good time.

Very Good
Nice beachfront hotel with sunbeds and beautiful beach. The restaurant is pretty well located on the seafront, very pleasant. As other things in Tulum the place is mixed with the jungle, with sandy paths to the rooms and animals showing up now and then. Good food in both restaurants, more on the expensive side but around Tulum's average. Rooms are super spacious and beds are super comfortable.
Except for Edgar, who works at the reception, and the nice cleaning ladies, we had an ok experience with the staff. Restaurant orders were often missed, and the serving crew seemed not pleased all the time. Reception wouldn't go the extra steps to make sure we were enjoying it. No tips about Tulum and most of the questions were answered with a yes or no, without much more useful information for first timers. Could work on hospitality a bit more!
