Exceptional
This is the best hostel in Tulum (I've stayed at practically all of them). Here's why: Che Hostel Tulum excels and is superior on all levels. They have recycling bins (something most hostels don't have). As soon as something breaks or is not working, they fix it. The cleaning staff is PRO, they always have the place looking and feeling clean, fresh, and nice.
Also, Che has fantastic tour options available. Plus, there are always fun events planned for guests, like mixology classes, karioki, games, bike rides to the beach, etc. Besides all this, the staff always makes you feel welcomed and is there for your needs. Shoutout to Luca, Mau, and Abraham, who also speak excellent English, in case you don't know Spanish. Great place!

Good
10/10 if your goal is to socialize and have a couple of drinks at night. The Hostel's facilities are reaally nice! Rooms are big, the air in the night is good, also staff is friendly, easy to socialize (if you like beerpong, making your own cocktails, welcome drinks, free club entrance...).
It's a party hostel, I guess if you are staying in Tulum, where there is not really much to do, that is what you are looking for. Hence you will be okay with or even appreciate that although there are signs that smoking is forbidden, noone cares, the activities are mainly focused on drinking games. Since it is a part location you also cannot be surprised when people next to you are taking drugs or spend half the night vomiting in the rooms toilet cause they smoked too much. This would defenitely not be accepted by the staff, but with party guests it is simply a thing that is likely to happen. It was just my own experience, and has nothing to do with the hostel itself, just be aware it's probably not for you if your overall plan is to explore the nature and culture of central america.

Very Poor
Nothing.
It's SCARY how bad the customer service is at this property. It's SO SCARY. I don't know why I personally had such a bad experience but specifically Luca treated me awfully. They make up prices and rules as they go. There's no uniform costs to things. No signage to back up their arbitrary charges. The only good thing about this place is the people that would stay there during Zamna- you are likely to make friends. Other than that, it's weird people who stay here. Rooms are awful, it's like they don't care. I am in utter SHOCK at how bad my experience was.

Fair
The fact that there was a pool
The kitchen was dirty, the rooms were outdated, small, they don't turn the AC in the rooms until 8 pm which is ridiculous.

The staff were great. Super helpful.
Did not have hot water for at least 24 hours. The sound from the bar was so loud it was unbearable. I had to change hotels.

Poor
Daytrip to Akumel.
Central location.
Hammock to relax
I booked a private room in this hostel expecting basic comfort, but unfortunately my experience was quite poor. There was a cockroach in the room, which made me uncomfortable. The blankets had large, noticeable stains and the room showed clear signs of overdue maintenance. While the staff were friendly and tried to be helpful, the overall cleanliness and condition of the room left much to be desired. I would not stay here again unless significant improvements are made.
No free coffee.
No safety box in the room.

comfortable beds with curtains, room had a balcony. the only reason i bump off a few points is it was not nearly as social as i would have wished or imagined, although the volunteers especially angie did a great job getting the people moving!

Pleasant
The location is amazing, the staff it's so friendly and welcoming. The vibes and the decor of the place is really cool! They plan trips and events every day. If you are a solo traveler you will definitely find some
Friends here. The wifi was super stable and they had a whole dedicated coworking space.
We had an issue with the room we booked; the AC was not working, and they could not repair it. They moved us to a suite in a building next door. Despite it being a suite with a slightly bigger room, we felt downgraded. The bed was horribly uncomfortable, making sounds whenever we sat down or moved while sleeping. The windows could not be open and one was completely cracked. It was dirty. The kitchen had only 1 non-stick pan and it was cover in rust, which is a health hazard. The bathroom was getting full with water after a simple shower and the fridge was leaking water, so we were waking up to puddles of water in front of our door. We loved our room in the hostel side, the bed was so comfortable and the decor was so nice, so it was kinda sad to be moved, and the new room was not worth the money. But I appreciate the effort they made to try to accommodate us.
