Ocean front
It’s inside of the park and now they want to charge everyday to be there plus what you already paid for your stay

Breakfast was delicious. We stayed in the casita, and the bungalow was exquisite - spacious, charming, well equipped, very private and right on the beach.

Its right on the beach. However, its also in Jaguar National Park. Beautiful. Could walk to the ruins from the beach.
Being in the Jaguar national park had its challenges. I had to pay an extra charge, every day, because of the location of the hotel. As well, there is government security at the gate that controlled access into an out of the park.

Very Poor
We did not like anything about the property. It is a wanna be place full of rules, with any organization what so ever, with very cheap tourists, and incapable stuff. The rooms are tidy but there is extreme humidity
We did not like the property but were unable to leave since we got there quite late. They made us pay the whole amount (which was extremely high for this hotel level and facilities. Since we arrived late we didn’t get the chance to see how horrible and unorganized the beach was. As part of the park and hotel rules noone is allowed to bring plastic in the property; which was very surprising for when we saw lots of plastic at the beach- and more importantly the staff to totally neglect collecting it. One of the days of our stay we wanted to go to the beach but all the lounges were already taken- not by the hotel guests but instead for random guests from whom the hotel was getting payment for renting them. When we complained as hotel guests the beach responsible advised the next time we wished to go to the beach to wake up early and leave our beach towels on the lounges so that he would know that we would like to use them. The next day we did it and some random guests just threw our towels. One of the days there was actually also a group playing beach volley at the reserved beach area between the lounges and the guests and the beach staff was just watching them without saying anything. No need to mention the designated smoking area with the ashtray full with a mountain of put out cigarettes- which at some point someone passed and picked up with his bare hands. As much as we tried to give them “another chance” it was getting worse and worse. We referred to booking for assistance several times and unfortunately due to their lack of professionalism we ended up having the worst Christmas holidays ever.

The service received was exceptional. From Lucia in reception to an incredible massage and the staff at the Beach Club. Everyone was kind and helpful. The beach was the cleanist along that shore line.
There isn't anything we would change.

Location, quality of room, helpfulness of staff, sea temperature!
The quality of the food wasn’t great in the beach club. In particular the Greek salad was very disappointing.

Perfectly located on the best beach in Tulum. Room was nicely appointed. Very comfortable bed with soft linens. Good water pressure in the shower. Very quiet and somewhat secluded with a short walk to the beach
The air conditioner was turned off every night around 10:15 by management and we had to turn it back on as the room would heat up quickly. The breakfast was inconsistent in the cooking and nothing special but it didn't matter much to us. The restaurant next door had a great lunch menu and everything was delicious.

The location in the Jaguar National park was ideal. It felt very secure and safe, there were no vendors on the beach, park shuttles were very nice. Nice and quiet.
It would have been nice to have the restaurant open later in the evening as both tours we took brought us back to the hotel after the 6pm restaurant closing.

Incredible location. Being in the national park was confusing but overall it's a plus. Much less developed than I expected. We saw so many animals, including a sea turtle. The hotel is absolutely top notch. Great breakfast, fantastic service. The beach is gorgeous.
We swam a lot in the ocean, but at times the seaweed was annoying.

The casita was lovely and had a great deck to sit on and watch the waves.
Beach club food was mediocre but the breakfast included in the stay was great.

+ free bikes
+ super helpful staff
+ free use of beds at the beachbar
+ close to the Tulum ruins
+ a lot of turtles
+ basic rooms but good
- the accomodation is in the national jaguarpark so you have to pay 415 pesos to enter and all other days of your stay 120 pesos for taxes.
- you are a bit isolated, you need to bike 3 km to get out of the park to find nearby restaurants

The location is stunning
The information about the property was not clear when booking. The beach is beautiful but it’s a public beach, which means that it gets very crowded and the relaxing, peaceful atmosphere the property promotes is lost. They breakfast bar serves external customers too and on several busy days we waited up to 45 minutes to be served.

The proximity to the beach was exactly what we were looking for. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Being located in the Jaguar National Park was a benefit and a hindrance at the same time. The area felt very safe and secure do to the 24hr armed guards at the Park entrance.
Eventhough there are several restaurants (Casa Maria and Cinco were fabulous) within the Park area, it did limit our choices for nearby dining experiences.

Wonderful
We loved staying at El Paraiso! The facilities were very clean and the beach was beautiful. I especially want to recognize the reception staff, as they were super helpful for suggesting activities, things to do, and places to eat. Snorkeling organized through the hotel was affordable and so worth it - lots of turtles and sting rays!
There’s hotel also offers free bikes for your use whenever you want. We rode the bikes into Tulum town center to get street tacos and do some shopping. It was about a 15 minute ride each way on easy bike path trails and the hotel provides bike lights in case you’re out after dark.
The restaurant and bar staff were also lovely and fun for service at the beach club.
The hotel restaurant itself closes at 5, so you have to go off site for dinner to other restaurants. There’s an excellent Thai and Mexican place in walking distance but if you’re there for more than two nights options are limited and expensive. Transportation costs to/from airport are pricey.
