The sand covered property was very unique and one of my favorite aspects. It was a beautiful hotel
The cleaning stuff most certainly stole my card information on three of my cards, and I had to have them shut down the first day. That was very disappointing. And left us feeling uneasy, and like we had to have our heads on a swivel at the hotel.

Rooms, beach- always raked, clean, organized, beach cenote clean, friendly staff, daily room cleaning w fresh towels and room pool screened if any debris, sand walking paths and sand dining floor space was a nice feature.
Should be more caffeinated nespresso coffee pods daily in the room ( like 6 minimum). Same with water supplied; 4 small Fiji waters minimum. General filtered unlimited potable drinking water stations should be around the property. 2 key cards per room instead of 1. Drink prices could be substantially lower which would make the beach and/or bar experience more lively to socialize with other guests creating an estate atmosphere. Light music during breakfast & dinner time around dining space would be great.

Disappointing
On one hand, the room was the most beautiful room weve ever been to and exceeded our expectations
On the other hand, the hotel service, facilities and total experience were highly disappointing and infuriating: 1. We had a reservation with breakfast included, but it turned out that this breakfast, for 2 people, included only 1slice of toasted bread(!!) 2 plates with slices of fruit, regular coffee or tea and fresh juice. Anything extra, such as eggs, was an extra charge of 20 USD for each person at the lowest. 2. The prices at the hotel were were excessively extremely high. For example, just a small bottle of water cost 7 USD. 3. Luckily we were warned by our friends to pay by Apple Pay on anything extra we ordered and keep the receipts, as the hotel required them to pay at the checkout for many things which they already paid for. They had to review with the staff on every charge and receipt so they wont be charged twice. Them and also we, felt this all process is like an investigation and our all stay felt like we must be very careful and aware so we wont be charge for anything we shouldnt have been. Another example - when we checked out, we were literally questioned. We were asked Did you take anything from the room or the minibar?, we answered No. and the reply was Are you sure?. Next we were informed that someone is going now to check and review the room and make sure. Only after almost 10 minutes we received their approval and release.

Poor
During our stay we had constructions right above our room between 11:00-17:00. It was terrible, we asked the hotels staff to change our room and they didnt want to, although they came to hear the noises by themselves. Additional note - bottle of water and 1 omlette costs us 37 usd, super expensive in my opinion.

Our stay at Tago Tulum was beyond amazing! The boutique hotel is right on the water, away from the madness of Tulum but close enough where we could walk places. The room was gorgeous overlooking the trees and water and had everything we needed, including our personal pool!
But the best part of staying at Tago was the incredible staff!! Starting from breakfast with Felipe and Hilo, knowing our order after the second day and getting fantastic service from Pablo at the beach club Playa Negroni. To getting white glove concierge service from Noah! Asked him for a recommendation for dinner and when we arrived we find our table is ready since he called ahead to reserve us a table while we walked there. Which ended up being the best meal we had all trip (Kitchen Table).
What tops the list was the exceptional actions from Lety! We arrive to Tulum airport after a 2 hour drive ready to depart but without passports. We call the concierge, she finds our passports still in the lock box. We are both freaking out trying to find a taxi to drive us back there and back to the airport while also looking for new flights. She calms us and tells us she can get us a taxi to speed down and give us the passports before our flight thats 1 Hr and 50 mins away! She gives me constant updates the entire time, taxi arrives and we get our passports and onto our flight with time to spare.
Nothing compares to the level of service my wife and I received at Tago Tulum. Will definitely return and highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful boutique hotel on the quieter end of the hotel strip, with only 20 or so rooms so it's nice and calm, intimate for couples. Our room had direct access to the beach and the hotel itself is modern, luxurious, yet set within nature. The beach and surroundings are maintained well and a dip in their "cenotes" is a must! We had breakfast delivered to our room to enjoy on the balcony, which had the dip pool that we used regularly. Staff service was excellent and the room was heavenly.
It's a small boutique hotel so if you choose to rent a bike to go into the town, it will be from a 3rd party vendor that they will liaise for you, not as beautiful or new as ones you see others riding on but it will get you there and back (just about!). Food + drink served at the beach club was delicious but had fairly high prices, as is to be expected on that part of Tulum nowadays. Also the room mini-bar had quite a markup surprising when you can pick up your own from down the road for much less, they would get the purchases if the markup wasn't so high.

Good
Room design and pool on the balcony is amazing. Lovely touch with the nightly small deserts delivered to the room. Recommend guests go into Tulum Centre for a much more authentic and reasonable restaurant and drinks experience.
Like much of Tulum Beach (in hindsight wed skip Talum Beach as everything is at least 2-3x the price of the rest of Yucatn and the Taxis charging a fixed 500 pesos is a joke), the hotel staff were too keen to try extract more money from you and upsell. Whilst breakfast is included, its very small and basic and if you want anything more exciting, you have to pay more to order off the other breakfast menu. Also the staff try to get you to tip over breakfast. Theyd be better off charging an extra $10 per head a night and dont try to upsell at breakfast time.

Wonderful
The experience in this hotel was unforgettable, the staff is so great, so kind.
The breakfast. Our reservation included only continental breakfast, that's why we decided to order extra food, but it wasn't great. I think this is an improvement point.

Fair
The hotel is very good, the rooms are very nice, the access to the beach is perfect and the protection of the turtles is to be highlighted.
A hotel without service is not a hotel. Everything is done to make you spend excessively. The restaurant is not good and very very expensive. The service clearly leaves something to be desired.
We have been in the hotel for two days and either the cleaning is not done or it is partially done. For example, the water basin is not changed, the terrace is left dirty, the towels are not changed and the bottled water is not given out, whereas as Europeans we are forbidden to drink tap water. We systematically had to ask several times a day for the cleaning of the room to be carried out. No gesture was made on the hotel part despite everything, which is neither welcoming or commercial.
Then let's talk about the very light breakfast we paid for with the room which comes with three pieces of fruit, a cup of coffee and tiny toast. We could have thought that low-end service is normal in Mexico. But yet, we visited a dozen hotels during our vacation, some of which were very isolated, yet the service was present and impeccable, we never had anything to complain about.
Finally, a number of employees are present and refuse us services for which we wish to pay. For example, an evening we arrived at the cigar lounge at 10 p.m. and no employee, although present on their phone on the terrace, came up to see if we wanted to consume something. So my husband came downstairs at 11:10 p.m., exasperated by the lack of service, and the sale of a cigar was refused to him because it closes at 11 p.m.

Wonderful
Perfect location in the Hotel Zone in Tulum.
Staff were attentive and very helpful with special mention to Michel and Chef Diego.
Hotel was on its own private beach which was cleaned every day (currently seaweed season).
We saw turtles nesting on the beach which was a real treat to witness.
