Very Good
Private location and clean rooms. Staff very friendly.
Breakfast restaurant was kind of small for the amount of people. Buffet options was limited. I went there so I can play golf with my friends but the hotel price seems too high for me.

We paid for an upgrade to beachfront studio and then beachfront king room, both beautiful rooms and it made our trip to wake up to the sunset and listen to the waves, being close to the beach and the hotel facilities there. The free bikes were great to get around the hotel. Nice that you can freely use facilities and go between all hotels in the complex (incl Rosewood, Fairmont and Banyan Tree). We felt Andaz had the best beachfront facilities, though.
There is a lagoon part and a beach part of the hotel and they are very far, so a bit of a project to move around, but there is golf cart service and free bikes. We were not overwhelmed by the restaurants. All staff were nice except in Tinto de pulpo where the service would vary a lot from nice to borderline rude, and breakfast caused some issues with our billing as we are asked to sign for the cost even if it is included, but we checked the bill at check out and three errors (out of four days) were immediately corrected at a 200USD difference by the always very nice reception staff. Generally we felt F&B was immensely overpriced for the quality and service.

The price was several times the usual since it was the holiday season and was last minute… I would’ve paid fraction. Of that price if we made plans earlier.

Loved the rainforest and the bicycles.
The hot tubs and pools were only turned on one of the nights. The resort isn’t a true all inclusive as everyone chases you around with bills to sign and 20% service charge reminders.

Very Good
- Location and the hotel ground. Mayakoba is beautiful
- Size of the suite. 1200 sq ft. Large living room and large bedroom. Very nice layout and one of the best suites I have stayed in
- Casa Amate is one of the best restaurants I have been to in Mexico. Latin American fine dining.
- We liked the boat ride. Although Banyan tree does offer a very romantic private boat ride with dinner served that is better but not at Andaz
- Staff are friendly
- The service was soooo slow. I asked for some water at the pool, didn't get anything after 45 mins. The problem is there is not easy option for self-service either. There is not a bar on the beach or the pool. So in a few days we hung out, we just waited and waited and waited for water.....There were not even many people around. The staff are friendly but I just don't understand how it could be this slow.
- The vibe.. It feels like somewhere you come to escape from the world to work on a novel. It might be a plus for someone but it is not as vibrant.

The property was spotless and incredibly gorgeous. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was not crowded at all, and the weather was perfect.
It was very difficult to find the kid sized blue bikes. My tall-for-her-age 9 year old was just a few inches too short for the adult bikes, and there are no helmets. We were able to locate a kid bike 3 of the 7 days we were there, but would have ridden more if there were more of them, it seems they only had a few.

Everything. The rooms, the service, the grounds, the bicycle rides to other hotels, the restaurants. We took the bikes through nature trail everyday, visited the cenote then had a drink in a different hotel and came back to swim on th beach. We never had to wait for a cart and it was during Easter
If there is one thing that I can say that would the prices in the restaurants. I find them to be a little overpriced.

Very good, but complex process if you are with AI - billing, waiting for bills. I do understand for tipping the staff , but this can be done in more effective way.
Not enough smoking places . I do understand sustainability, and smoking free environment, but presume there are guests who came to relax - so preparing for them nice smoking place ( seating, light, etc ..) believe to minimum for hotel of this rating.

Good beach.
I asked concierge 5 days before we came here to advise where to make reservations for my wife’s birthday and my anniversary. No answer… and then, no reservations. No apologies. 0 interest.
Concierge is the worst. They didn’t make the reservations I requested for the following days. they were never available and they didn’t plan my return trip to the airport—had to take a cab. I had to go dine at other hotels because food here was greasy and basic… not even a good pasta dish. They say kids eat free, but the only real food for them is salmon so my baby ate overcooked and burned salmon with overcooked rice for 4 days.

Disappointing
The property was well located amongst other resorts which made it easy to venture out for meals.
My mother got severe food poisoning from one of the restaurants and was unable to even leave her room for the whole stay.

Almost everything was great. Rooms, area, bikes, food, swimming pools. Not crowded during our stay.
We would go there again for sure if that was closer.
Nice music in the swimming pool area. Cold water for free.
Very expensive renting of the bike trailer for the kid. 25 usd per day.
When we were leaving many loud Americans came. So we were happy that we came during the week.
The additional bed for the kid was uncomfortable.
