Professional Staff! for a difficult day in Jalisco.
Wonderful how the Barceló hotel and staff reacted that day. We were in Guadalajara on the day of the disturbance and I would like to show our appreciation to the Hotel Staff.
First need to clarify that the hotel was never in danger since it is located in a very quiet area that was never affected. The first thing they did was inform everyone of the situation in real time. They knew exactly which avenues were being blocked and what was the real situation. They were aware of problems close to the Airport and advice to stay in the hotel for security reasons. Most flights were canceled. The Staff always kept in mind the safety of all guests. Because of the situation no one went out and no one came in, the staff volunteer to stay at the hotel to make sure that everything worked properly, sleeping at the hotel with limited contact with their families. They worked three shifts without rest and ALWAYS in a good mood although the nervousness we all had was evident.
The food became an issue, since it had much more demand than expected and it was impossible to deliver any supplies. They were very organized and were able to provide service to everyone. Felt protected all the time. It was certainly a very unusual situation, but they took care of all of us.
To all the Staff, Thank you very much!!!!!!
I know that, that was not Mexico, it was an extraordinary situation. but their response was very Mexican, extraordinary as always.

Nothing to old and rude staff
Look somewhere else they have better hotels and nicer around that area
Hot water doesn't work properly come and goes
They are remodeling rooms and stink like thinner or some chemicals
We forgot a jacket call ask them they never found it and after we ask staff they where gossiping and mocking

Location
Despite having had a positive experience at this hotel in the past, my recent one-day business event stay was extremely disappointing. The room provided to me was dirty and had a 3-inch gap in the front door. Despite being exhausted and wanting to rest, it was difficult to sleep due to the noise from the elevator and bugs on the ceiling. When I tried to address these issues with the front desk, they seemed uninterested and no action was taken. As a result, I will not be returning to this hotel in the future.

Location for the event we attended at EXPO Guadalajara. Being lodged at Barcelo is very convenient to not to move driving or taking taxi. The view and the amenities are great.

Stuffy staff, can’t check in early AT ALL (not even a few minutes) without “upgrading” and paying about 50% of the price of your total stay. Seemed ridiculous. Also, Ubers have a hard time getting to hotel because they show preference to taxis. Make sure you call your uber when they’re on their way and explain where you are or you have to walk out and across the street near the Expo. They really don’t like Ubers here. Food was mid and overpriced. Coffee shop doesn’t know what a cortado is. I stayed at a smaller hotel near the city center that was a million times better and cheaper. Not worth it in my opinion for the illusion of quality.
