40 years ago this might have been a 4 star hotel but now its 1 star. Hotel is located directly across the street from a music venue that BLASTS until 3:30 am. Without ear plugs sleeping is near impossible. Room itself was disgraceful, paint falling from the ceiling, bathroom full of black mold. Staircase is steep and narrow. The neighborhood has changed from quiet to late night restaurants, loud music. This hotel was sold as 4 star and I paid for the "superior" room. The only good thing about the place is the front staff.

Very Good
I'm a happy repeat customer here. Pretty rooms with high ceilings, water kettle in the room is a nice feature. Staff have all been nice. Great location to walk to Avenida Chapultepec and Colonia America restaurants. Check in and check out were easy, I haven't tried their restaurant but other people seemed happy there. The night doorman gave me helpful local recs too. Great place.
Some of the ground floor units have windows facing a courtyard that guests pass through, or are close to the front desk in earshot of the buzzer that peole ring at night when they need to be let in. If you're sensitive to noise, just bring your earplugs or headphone and you'll be great, or ask for a top floor, further back room.

Poor
The staff is very friendly and does their best to help. The neighbourhood is very convenient, with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby.
The bathroom was clogged, which caused flooding throughout the entire washroom. As a result, unpleasant smells came from the drain.
Additionally, the room was not soundproof, and there is a bar just around the corner. The noise lasted all night, making it impossible to sleep.

Poor
Convenient are of Guadalajara and right off of Av. Chapultatec which is lined with bars and restaurants. Staff was very nice and accommodating.
Like other reviewers said, the extremely loud music from a nearby restaurant or bar is extremely loud. It is so loud that wearing earplugs and listening to my own music couldn’t cover it up. The music goes on late into the night. I stayed here for 2 nights and got very little sleep. If you want to sleep, this is not a hotel for you.

Good
Staff was excellent. Super friendly and helpful. Hotel is really charming and clean. Bed was great with good linen. Lots of restaurants nearby. Love the multiple outdoor seating areas and secure parking.
The downfall is the really loud bar across the street. Unable to sleep due to the noise. Picked the presidential suite for the tub on the private patio and wasn't able to use it. No hot water or pressure.

Good
Location (although loud in the night), parking.
I booked a room with SPA bathtub, but got one with a single bathtub. Also, first night the air conditioning was not working until they found a proper remote control. Last, the room was dirty, until I requested room cleaning for the second night.

I like how the hotel smelled in the lobby and even in the rooms
The beer I would buy there when I would open the can the beer would puff out its beer head instantly and that happen with each Heineken beer I'd bought there.

Disappointing
The room was not very clean. The toilet ran constantly. The door to the room was rotting and broken at the bottoms…..And the bar next door played music so loud until 4am I could feel the bass in the room. Impossible to sleep.

Poor
The architecture of the original house
The lamp on the bedside table didn´t work, the safety box did not work either . The cleaning staff left me an envelope asking for tip. I could never join the wi-fi in my room.
But the most awful thing was the noise util 3 am both nights I stayed in. There are two bars on the block and corner very close to the hotel. I could not sleep until they close. The volume is not a normal party one, the music came from the terrace so no walls to contain the noise. I came home tired as if I was on my worst days of work.
No accountability at all.

Exceptional
Nice terrace and room, very friendly staff, very clean. We recommend the presidential suite with whirlpool bathtub on the private balcony, it was really worth the money! The hotel is super well located!
The whole hotel is a little old, furniture on the terrace could be exchanged. But it had its charm of it own! It was loud at night, but we did not mind, if you want to be in the middle of the bar/ restaurant zone this is what to expect.
Thank you for your information!
