I had no idea of this due to no email or text communication prior to us arriving tired. The front desk lady did comp us some points but was disappointed with this being a beautiful hotel based on the website.
When I tried calling the front desk the phone would not work, the ac every time it turned on made a loud noise. Above all the not having water at certain times was a huge disappointment .

As an avid traveler, I’ve seen a fair share of hotel hiccups. But my recent stay at AC Hotel by Marriott Guadalajara deserves a special mention — not for excellence, but for how far a property can stray from what it promises versus what it delivers. Let’s start with the room. I paid for an upgrade expecting an elevated experience. What I got instead was a crash course in false advertising: dirty mirrors, unhooked curtains, and the thinnest, saddest bed cover I’ve seen in a hotel that claims to be “premium.” The bathroom amenities? The body wash dispenser was empty, replaced by a pile of bar soaps. The lotion? One 25ml bottle. For two people. For two nights. Apparently “luxury” now means rationing skincare like it’s 1942. Housekeeping never showed up — not once. When I raised this with the front desk, their solution? A room refresh... offered 30 minutes before checkout. Inspired. The pool scene? Less relaxing retreat, more public holiday free-for-all. The hotel clearly prioritized day-pass sales over actual guest comfort. Tip: if you're planning to enjoy the amenities you're paying for, don't plan to enjoy them. The cherry on top was the AC Kitchen staff, whose general vibe ranged somewhere between “bored” and “mildly annoyed you exist.” I was offered a complimentary breakfast to make up for the issues. But when I showed up, the waiter dismissed it with the kind of attitude that makes you consider fasting. I left the property just to enjoy a decent meal and basic decency. In summary: This was not a premium experience. This was not Marriott standard. This was a cautionary tale. Unless you enjoy paying extra for less, I strongly suggest you book elsewhere.
