Wonderful
Beautiful views, palm trees, landscaping, plants, flowers.
Felt safe every where we went; security & staff at all locations.
Restaurant & mini bars limited hours, room service took anywhere from 30 mins to 1 1/2 hours depending on the time; so someone must be in the room
during that time. Domestic beer was not included in the all-inclusive & it was very expensive at the resort market. Requested a few items for the room prior to arrival & didn’t receive them until after several additional requests after arrival on 3rd day in the room.

All rooms have a balcony/terrace and partially or fully sea view. Big rooms.Big pools. Few stores at the property.
No evening entertainment for all (just in restaurants and not every night). The coffee shop doesn’t include in all-inclusive packages.

Pool and drinks.
We checked in on April 17th as scheduled. We were given a room but were told that we would have to check out of that room the next morning, April 18th, and check our luggage with the Bell Hop for storage until another room was available. They could not give us a time when another room would be available. We kept checking with the front desk throughout the afternoon hoping to get in a room. We finally got in an another room around 4:30 pm that evening after retrieving our luggage, which was suppose to have been delivered to our room. We paid for our accommodations for April 17th to the 21st, 2026, with the assumption that we would have a room for the entire stay. We have never experienced this before and it was very disappointing that we were inconvenienced for a whole day for a room we had paid for. If we had known in advance we would not have reserved this resort.

Wonderful
We loved the beach and the swimming pools. The food was good overall at the buffet. We never were able to reserve the restaurants. The facilities are in good shape overall. Loved the place in general. The fact that is mostly calm and relaxing giving family vibes is true.
This property it's a giant time share. Being told about the time share was shocking news to us. It's common that many hotels have a small portion reserved for that, but the consequence of this in our case is that after the first night we had to be reallocated to a different room. We were on the 4th floor at first, and then we moved to the 2nd floor. For a 6 days stay that sucked.

The location, the rooms almost all have an ocean view, food is great
The key system, It is all inclusive, but you need your room key every time you get anything. A drink, food, etc. the server takes it at breakfast and doesn’t give it back until you get your &0 bill. You also feel like you have to tip for everything

Good
Beautiful resort with amazing pools, but the food and service logistics are poor.
The pools and splash pad are incredible and perfect for families. The resort has huge potential to be a 5-star experience as the facilities themselves are beautiful.
The room was big and we loved it
The Food: Truly disappointing. It was tasteless and poor quality—a major letdown.
Pool Seating: A nightmare. People grab chairs at 6:00 AM, and there is nowhere to sit if you arrive later. The hotel must manage this better.
Spa: Way overpriced, triple the rates in the US.
Beach: Too much seaweed which brings endless bugs/gnats.
Bottom line: Great potential, but the food and seating issues ruined the luxury feel.

A beautiful facility and well maintained. The pools, gym and beach are excellent. Staff are very pleasant and helpful.
The all inclusive plan is expensive and not worth what you can consume. The drinks are watered down and the food quality is mediocre, at best.

Good
We’ve been coming here for ten years (but are not owners/members). It’s very clean and has very nice pools, but never enough lounge chairs. The property overall is very beautiful and well maintained for the most part. There’s a nice grocery store on site with a small Starbucks, and a doctor (which we actually went to once for an unexpected illness). There are several restaurants (some good, some very so so) to choose from. The staff are nice but really push you to go to their presentation for membership (similar to a time share).
People come down to the pool in the morning and stake out loungers with their towels and sometimes never return. There is no place to sit and we visit early in the year (typically Feb) when it’s much less crowded. If you can’t find a place to sit either at the beach or by the pool what’s the point? You shouldn’t have to get up at 6am just to get a lounger by the pool. We’ve also seen a huge increase in prices (room rates, items in the grocery store) and up charges for menu items (these are “above and beyond “ the all inclusive offerings). We noticed a big decline in quality and choices at the La Veranda buffet/main restaurant this year. And worst of all… The alcohol DRINKS ARE SO WEAK IT’S NOT WITH ORDERING THEM…the waiters then try to sell you an extra shot in the side (we actually complained to management about it (! We thought we’d see improvement once Holiday Inn bought the property but it’s gotten worse.
The beds are hard so ask for a foam topper for your mattress. It helps a lot!

Poor
The location and the pool kids aqua park was the mostly positive part of the stay.
I travel frequently and usually stay in 5-star hotels. However, in this specific case, I don't consider the hotel to live up to that rating.
The rooms are acceptable, but would be more in line with a 4-star standard. The bathrooms, while quite clean, have facilities that suggest a 3-star standard and clearly need renovation to reach the advertised level. The bedding also left something to be desired, as it doesn't appear to be 100% quality cotton, and the pillows are small. The towels aren't bad, but they are small and of medium thickness.
The bathroom amenities are of very low quality. The hairdryer is useless, with no drying power, no cotton swabs, no sewing kit, and the toilet paper is rough. There's no laundry room, just a space where you can wash your clothes yourself. Nothing is in keeping with a 5-star rating.
I booked the all-inclusive plan, but the hotel operates on a hybrid system. Basic things like a Corona beer are not included and require extra payment, and soft drinks are diluted. Even using the all-inclusive identification bracelet, it is necessary to sign receipts for each drink or snack consumed.
In the women's restroom of the main restaurant, there is a storage area for hotel products, which causes male employees to enter the women's restroom. Having this storage area in the women's restroom is poor hotel management, as men should not enter women's restrooms.
In theory, there is a concierge, but in practice, most of the time was spent selling packages and excursions instead of providing useful information about how the hotel works.
I consider the cost-benefit ratio unfavorable for what was actually offered. One piece of information that I consider important is to have in the Booking.com advertisement that this hotel is part of the Holiday Inn group.

I loved the food at the Hacienda Sisal and at the pool. Enjoyed the large pool, the waiters at the pool, the lovely beachfront, and activity staff.
No hot tubs!! For a small extra expense, they could heat the two cold water shallow bubble pools for guest to enjoy the cooler days and when the sun leaves at 4:00. Difficult to reserve Bistro for short stay. Rooms, beds, linens and baths are in need of renovation. More dinner restaurant options. Long checkin time - 45 minutes even though there was only one person ahead of me. Unwelcoming staff at lobby desk; never welcomed me to the resort or smiled during to me or others at checkin or at any time during my stay. Time share people.

Fair
The location was good. The views were top tier. Rooms were clean and spacious. The cleaning staff and waiters were great. The buffet was decent with made to order food available.
The check in process is where you find out all the extra stuff booking doesnt tell you. First this is a timeshare resort. If you book here do it from Saturday to the next Saturday or days in between. Do not stay across a Saturday unless you want to have to change your room. Our party was six people but they wont give you a suite. Because you arent a member. This meant we had to book 3 separate rooms which results in 3 separate 300 dollar holds..one for each room. Its not that their weren't suites available, but they are reserved for the members. My teenage daughter was in a room with my 20 year old 6 floors above where we stayed. Our elderly parents were across the resort. The place is safe but I wasnt exactly comfortable with that arrangement and the resort would not accomodate at all! The concierge talked to us for 45 minutes about a member presentation but we were not there with any complimentary promotion we paid full price to stay. The place is cashless, so if you dont do all inclusive they are basically charging it to your room but once your room hits the amount of the hold you can no longer make charges without stopping by the front desk to increase your hold amount. I could go on, but the basic theme is, if you dont ask your wont be told about it until its time for you to pay. There are also alot of upcharges, its all inclusive but if you want a brand of anything you know, expect to pay extra, anything premium as far as food, expect to pay extra to the room. So that 300 dollar hold goes quickly if you arent counting. It was just alot. My recommendation is that its not great for large party of people. More than 2 is a challenge, more than four its no longer a vacation. Because of the lack of transparency despite the beauty I will never stay there again, and seriously rethinking doing any international travel on booking.com.

Location is unbeatable. The entire resort is built in a U-shape so every room has a little bit of ocean view. We booked a beach front villa so had the perfect beach view. Lots of activities for kids. Separate kiddie play area which is awesome.
