Wonderful
The location was very convenient, the service was excellent and the cleanliness was admirable. The hotel is an oasis of nature in the middle of the city but everything was clean and tidy.

Loved the breakfast.
Smaller courtyard than it looks like in the photos. I didn’t swim bc I was only there overnight but not sure I would’ve.. very small and felt like it was in the lobby. A dip maybe.

I have stayed at El Rey twice already and not sure what is it, but I really enjoy the vibe there. Its an old hotel, but still well maintained, the treat seems more personal, you can get a Massage and the breakfast is good, too. Nearby - a nice italian restaurant, solid seafood, ADO station and a supermarket. I will be back :)
Nothing. Depending on your expectations, of course. But if you are looking for something close to the center/ADO that is not a chain - El Rey is great. When I enter, I feel I am back 30 years and Cancun is still a small city, el Rey must have been a top small hotel back then!

Big rooms. Great location very close to ADO Terminal. Good breakfast.
Noise early in the morning. Our room was very close to the kitchen. Curtains let a lot of light through.

The location of this small hotel is central and the decor was so inviting and relaxing! They made a real effort to provide a green oasis in the city. Front office staff is very fluent in English. Our room was spacious, and I loved the small kitchenette. A delicious breakfast was included.
Breakfast was a busy time and there could’ve been a few more hands on deck.
