We really enjoy the buffet morning and night, the best we ever had. So yummy, tasty...
The kids club staff are really great.

Very Good
Breakfast and dinner were good/OK, lots of options. Indian food was good.
Half board should include some soft drinks/juices as well, paying for even sparkling water (from the hotel) felt like a cheap rip-off.

Pleasant
- Clean and spacious rooms, great-sized beds and wonderful reception and cleaning staff.
- The hotel is well-designed, with loads of space inside and at the beach lounge areas and multiple pools.
- Loads of options at the breakfast buffet (not all great, but good basics to pick from).
- Nice spa with one sauna and a steam room that needs to be booked a day in advance. It was also convenient to get a kayak at the beach.
- Good parking with security and decent space.
- Very helpful and friendly reception and cleaning staff.
- The hotel needs renovation to regain its 4-star status, as the furniture, lighting and decoration are outdated.
- The hotel beach is not well-maintained, and no other guests, other than 1-2 people per day, were swimming.
- The restaurant staff in all hotel restaurants made us feel uncomfortable being on B&B and not an all-inclusive package, and they reminded us multiple times that we needed to pay for lunch/dinner meals, and they were worried about it when any of us left for a photo or to the toilet, and counted bills multiple times to ensure the bill was covered.
- Restaurant staff were also visibly annoyed when we were sharing starters and not taking the wine list.
- Breakfast could be improved as the fruits often were not fresh, and the quality of the vegetables and meat could be better.
- Overall, it did not feel close to a 4-star experience, but it could be a nice experience for a 2 or 3-star hotel.

Very Good
The food was fantastic. The beach is beautiful and clean.
The drinks service is really slow and you have to request a menu. There’s not enough space to sit at tea time. Our package was all inclusive but the prices of food in Mauritius are crazy. The hotel website is not totally truthful. There are 3 pools not 4. Ice cream is available at noon but only choice of 2 flavours, not as advertised.

Very outdated and really needs to be painted. Especially the buffet restaurant. The tables and storage cupboards were grubby and dirty.
Staff were nice, but didn’t seem to know what they were doing. We paid for an upgrade, and honestly I don’t think it was worth the money. The staff in the buffet were pleasant but they seemed to lack in experience and always wearing dirty uniforms. We were all inclusive but that didn’t cover the beach restaurant. Disappointing

Poor
Food is decent; the overall ambience is good and makes you feel comfortable. However, I personally don't have much to add as good points further.
While the way Tamassa is advertised as a great stay, I felt that Tamassa is just another scheme to scam the tourists money. For instance, they offer Sauna, Hammam, Snorkeling as a part of the room package. But often the tourists will arrive not knowing that hotel has this weird condition of booking a slot for these items, which are already part of the package, one day in advance. This means that if you checkin today late, after 5pm local time, you won't be able to do a booking for tomorrow.
Its like saying "you should pay for the food as a part of package but you won't get it until you book a slot one day in advance after reaching the resort".
Apart from this, I felt the rooms are not so clean - while I don't blame the house keeping staff for this, its because of the lapse of management to appoint enough staffs to cover such a huge property. We had cockroaches visiting our room everyday; not because of the house keeping staff but because the plumbing is too old and there are cracks in the washroom floor from which the cockroaches enters the room. I personally don't recommend booking at Tamassa Bel Ombre, unless you run out of other options. Frankly, its not worth the money you pay for.
Location is also a thing - Bel Ombre is quite isolated in terms of access - nearest Petrol Bunk is 7kms away. No eateries or restaurants nearby, outside the resort. Even car/scooter rentals, you don't have much options there, as compared to North or West Mauritius.

This is one of those rare places where I struggle to find something that was not good. A huge property with every conceivable amenity thrown in (think free wind surfs, kayaks and snorkeling trips, apart from the usual -3 pools, spa, multiple sports, huge lawn, great sunset /beach) and with every one of the staff across departments being equally smiling, warm and helpful; some culture that has been built. It's a 10/10, let me just say that, in short.
To me, how hotels make up for misses speaks louder than when they don't miss anything at all. And they showed how they raise the bar on this. I had booked the stay for a very special occasion and despite acknowledging on messages they missed it when the time came. But how they made up for it the next day ensured it didn't feel like a miss. Huge thanks to Siven in particular.
One place both my wife and I just didn't feel like leaving.
Maybe, take care of the birds on the roof rails and eating from plates in the breakfast area - that's a real menace and health hazard, and not cute! That's about it.

Our 3.5-month family stay at Tamassa Resort was a truly unforgettable escape. We originally planned a one-month trip to get away from the UAE's summer heat, but we were so captivated by the resort and the pleasant weather that we extended our stay for an additional two months. Far from getting bored, we discovered a wealth of activities to enjoy. From the moment we arrived, every detail was impeccably managed, creating a joyful and relaxing retreat. We especially loved the resort's stunning landscape, with its three pristine pools and endless ocean views, which provided a peaceful and spacious environment.
What truly sets Tamassa apart is its exceptional staff. Every team member was incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming, making us feel like part of their family. We extend our deepest gratitude to Mr. Nishad and Siven, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. The warmth and care we received from everyone were remarkable, and every staff member deserves a huge round of applause.
Our accommodations were excellent. Our room was spacious, clean.
The dining experience was equally impressive. We enjoyed a delicious variety of local, Indian, and international cuisine, and the themed buffets kept every meal exciting. We particularly appreciated the attentive chefs who regularly checked on us and created special meals to keep our dining experience fresh. The burger truck was also a fantastic afternoon treat. A heartfelt thank you to Pravesh, Altaf, Yuvina, Jaya, Jenna, Chef Suraj, Chef Kunal, Chef Edihne, Chef Eugene, Chef Babita, Chef Roshni, and Nasheen for their wonderful service. My son absolutely adored his interactions with all of them.
Activities and entertainment were plentiful and kept us busy throughout our entire stay.
We have so many wonderful memories from the kids' club that we will cherish forever.
Thank you, Tamassa, for a truly memorable and pleasant stay.

Disappointing
Good location, rooms were easily accessible from the pool and bar, nice pool
The service was very slow, we had to wait 15 mins to take our order in an empty bar. The drinks were not great. One room did not have any towels. We called reception for ice and towels and it never came. We requested a late check out which was approved at reception but I assume the housekeeping was not informed ad they kept checking when we were leaving multiple times. Buffet food was average with not a lot of variety.

Nothing
Not family-friendly and very disappointing. We arrived after an 11-hour trip from Dubai with three kids, including one with a medical condition. Despite explaining our situation, the staff made us wait until 2 p.m. to check in and showed no flexibility or care. After repeated requests, we were given a temporary room that smelled strongly of urine. Later, our actual rooms were delayed, and when finally provided, one was the same dirty room, another was on the third floor with no elevator (unsafe for kids), and the last smelled like cigarettes and urine.
After six exhausting hours, the guest relations manager told us we could leave and promised a refund. We left based on that, but later the hotel denied the refund and claimed we left on our own, which was completely untrue. My children were so tired they ended up sleeping on beach chairs. The service, hygiene, and overall treatment were unacceptable. I would not recommend this resort to any family.

Poor
-The only good thing is that the price is reasonable for the area and its scenery. The staff are friendly, and the high manager is polite.
-The area is very remote, and transportation cost us a lot to reach the malls, Port Louis, and the safari.
-The activities are limited. Booking stated that some activities are included, but I was told they require an additional fee, such as bicycles and a Jacuzzi.
-The spa wasn't enough for me; I've seen better options plus the massage prices were very expensive.
-The activities available don't offer priority to residents. A week in advance must be booked, as the staff explained.
So I rented a boat from outside for fishing.
-The weather is too cold for swimming, and unfortunately, it's the coldest area in the south.
-The cleanliness isn't the best; there are a lot of ants and mosquitoes in the room and on the beds.
-The food was delicious, but there wasn't much variety. I didn't find the coffee I like.
However, the snack bar was disappointing, and there isn't a good grocery store in the resort, so we went out to buy from the supermarket.
-The music is annoying at night due to the resort's nightclub, with no regard for the residents.
-The staff doesn't explain the activities, and I have to explore them on my own.
-Would I stay here again? There are no better areas, more comprehensive activities, a more luxurious spa, or a cleaner one. Even if the price is higher, I came for the fun. Thank you.

Room was perfect for our family size. Great location, nice property.
Inattentive staff - our shower cubicle leaked water into the room, yet it took 3 phone calls to get someone to attend to it. The breakfast was exactly the same 5 days in a row. The fine dining restaurant lacked in quality, yet wanted to follow all the rules of fine dining. Overall, was quite expensive for what we got.

The property was amazing. It has all the facility which you can expect for. property is bang on the beach and my room was upgraded to the beach facing which was a pleasant surprise.
The staffs were not very friendly. Cart was not available for the transportation even for elder people. I should not say, but i felt that the response of the staff was different for Indian and European, which was very disheartening. For such big brand, this is least expected. Even the cart driver was rude.
