The location.

Old guesthouse and not clean especially the toilet/shower room.
- no complimentary water
- no staff at the reception area in case you ask something. You need to message/call the number once you need something.
- the main door closed so early like 9 pm. Again, you need to call or message them to open the door. So hassle.
- no toiletries (old soap was there. I didn’t use in the blue bottle . I wasn’t sure about that. Could it be shampoo or body wash)
-glass should be placed in plate. They just put directly on the space near the mirror. (Untidy)
- water pressure is so low. Change the shower faucet. Strongly suggest.

Excellent staff, a bit old facility but everything works/minimally viable. Value for money if your purpose is to sleep over a night or two. 20-30 mins walk to downtown. 3 am taxi service to airport was fast and affordable (30 bucks)
Again for the price you can’t expect Shangri la kind of experience but I would recommend the owners to have a remote bell at the reception to call the staff when needed. When I needed to talk there was no one nearby to ask. This also a bit worried me in terms of security because hostel door was open 24 hrs and after 6 pm no one was at the reception desk. In theory any stranger could break into one of the guest rooms and steal stuff etc (locks seemed easy to manipulate with). Another thing is taxi to airport. I think the driver is the owner’s son and a very kind guy who woke up at 2:30 am to take me to the airport. But I was surprised he insisted I don’t fasten the seat belt (have no idea why?!) given how crazy the traffic is in UB. I hope I misunderstood but I would suggest the owner makes sure people certainly fasten the seat belts.

Initally coming from Sukhbaatar square, and being a first timer in Mongolia, I was kind of scared to see the neighborhood, but my fears quickly vanished. Mr. Gana and staff are kind and attentive. Place is relatively close to the center area, I chose to walk everywhere. Stayed in the double bed room, bed was comfy, and room had plenty of space to unpack. It looks rough at first, but everything worked. Refrigerator is on the first floor and can be used by everyone. Has a terrace on 2nd floor that's connected to the double rooms and gers. People sometimes did bbq, me and other smokers just chilled, while taking in the beautiful view of the city (especially at night). There are CU's, other convenience stores (remember, you can't buy hard liquor after 00.00, but beer is fine), cheap bazaarish shopping buildings and many restaurants in the area. There are bunch of tour options, I tried one, it was fine. Honestly, for these prices, couldn't really complain.

It is a family run Guesthouse, I felt quite safe and welcomed all the time, it is the best cost vs value option that you can get, the location is good, you have restaurants and shops and the main streets just a couple of blocks away.
The rooms are not fancy but have all what you need, in my opinion the double rooms on the top floor are the most comfortable, the yurt at the rooftop is also nice.
The owner and his son helped me with everything I need and were always aware of me, theh took me to the country side, they took me to the airport, etc, I definitelly recommend this place.
