Lovely hosts who did what they could due to my use of a folding wheelchair. No lift, which hosts reminded me of. They prefer cash payment and check-out is 9am. Central location, surrounded by every conceivable shop/store. Beach 5 min walk. Taxi rank at the beach. REMEMBER when leaving by taxi, make sure you catch one going up the street. If you don't, the taxi will take you the roundabout way to the bus terminal as the street is a ONE WAY; takes 10-15 min due to traffic clogging in high season. Taxi cost me €10 . My room # 9 was on the third floor. It had 3 single beds, somewhat comfortable. Very quiet room. Room was so cool even without aircon! The aircon, fridge and wifi were excellent!!! There was an old TV, no remote. Don't think it worked. Nice bathroom, most comfortable toilet seat! Ok towels. View was of the backyard full of greenery, with a bit of a view of the neighbours. Not an issue really. There was a little kitchenette on the shared hot balcony. I didn't use it so can't comment. Nice, budget friendly accommodation.
ULCINJ IS NOT FOR MOBILITY IMPAIRED . There were virtually NO kerb cuts, first time I've encountered this in my 6 months of travel. Locals and tourists were NOT very friendly overall in Ulcinj. Last night I asked 3 different men to help me with my wheelchair up 12 steps (I secured it on the first floor mostly): 1st man completely ignored me 2nd one shook his head 3rd one flat out said 'No' UP UNTIL LAST NIGHT - NO ONE HAD REFUSED TO ASSIST ME. This morning hosts called a taxi, lines busy. I asked a young couple on a scooter going in the direction of the taxi stand to please summon me a taxi. The young man smiled and said 'ok'. His female passenger jabbed him in the ribs and said 'Go!'. Yeah, no taxi. A young couple also declined to summon a taxi saying they didn't know where it was - even though I told them the stand is around the corner, 200mt...at the beach, where they were headed, judging by their swimwear, towels... Eventually I hailed a passing taxi, very pleasant chap, didn't fare-gouge me. At the bus terminal, 3 grown middle-aged men, including staff, casually watched on as I struggled to lift my gear up a few steps. NO ONE IS OBLIGED to assist me, but a bit of empathy wouldn't go astray. I sat down to have an American coffee, bit strong. I asked for some milk, got a smirk and a smidgen of milk. I'm off to Tirana, and see if I'll experience the legendary hospitality the Albanians are famous for ?

Wonderful
The friendliest family in Ulcinj? I'm happy to agree with that. Smiling faces, kind words, early check-ins, all the good things. The location is great, allowing you to explore both the old town, newer town, beach and everything easily, with great access to the cafes, bars, restaurants etc. Good shower, comfy bed, happy days.
The WiFi wasn't the best, but that is a common theme throughout the area really.
