Great marina view
No breakfast (well that was already mentioned in booking). No lift in the hotel. No tissues in the room. No hair dryer. Super hard mattress, couldn’t sleep. No towels in bathroom, had to buy one from medina. The hand shower hanging bracket was broken. No lights in the toilet, which is separated from the bathroom by a door. No heating (I couldn’t find any vent, central/non-central). The room went pretty cold at night. Only one charging port in the room. This was my first time in Tanger, I loved the city. But the hotel was a big letdown for its cost.

Wonderful
Little bit late for the review, I already received a reminding Notification from Booking :) The Hotel has this 80s/90s Vibes, especially Room 25. The staff were super nice, we actually reserved two nights, but due to personal circumstances, we had to check out early, and they even gave us a refund. We stayed there for only one night. Btw the Night view was Amazing. I spent the whole day exploring the city and loved the Beach, landscapes, museums, and the Old Medina. Tanjah is very calm, and the people are friendly. I can’t wait to visit again ?

The rooms with sea views are fabulous! They have balconies and are bright, airy and spacious. The facilities are dated but have an old world elegance and character. The staff is responsive and professional.

Hotel Gardenia is a relic from the past and feels like an old movie theatre from the lobby/entrance. The hallways are a glowing apricot color and the lobby has an entire mirror covered wall with a dramatic curved staircase leading up to the rooms. It is situated just off the main boulevard on a pedestrian only street and the facade has seen better days. The old name "Lutecia" can be found on the outside of the building but the new name "Gardenia" is hard to spot. My room faced the port and had a stunning view which changed from day to night. The bathroom was huge and filled with sunlight in the afternoon. The front desk man, Mehdi, was always smiling and helpful and made my stay a pleasant one.
As Morocco gets ready for the Word Cup, there is constant construction going on which makes many places including the Gardenia very noisy. I stayed on the second (above the ground floor) floor and in the early evening sounds of a football match and sometimes disco music came wafting up to my room but it stopped pretty early. The area around the hotel like much of downtown Tangier can be a bit seedy, especially in the evening but this is true of many neighborhoods in this port town. The bathtub was not really usable for a bath because it was in desperate need of re-enameling but it was perfectly fine for a shower.

friendly and helpful staff, great location, amazing view from the balcony, mirror plus chairs and table in bedroom, toilet paper plus soap and gel provided, plenty of electricity sockets, payment accepted in both euro and dirham

Location: Great spot on a lively, safe street, 10 minutes walk from the Medina and Grand Socco Square.
Staff: Staff is very welcoming, kind, and helpful. We were given a sea-view room, even though it wasn’t planned.
Cleanliness: Room and bathroom were clean, though there were some stains in the bathroom
Missing amenities: Had to ask for towels, there was very little shower gel and Wifi doesn’t work correctly
