It is a nice property with eclectic decoration. The breakfast on the rooftop was delicious. The housekeeping staff was very kind. I rated a 3 for these reasons that, unfortunately, can not make up for the rest of my experience.
I arrived to check in and waited 15-20 minutes while the manager had a contentious LOUD (some might say SCREAMING) phone call with an unhappy guest. In time I was checked in. The experience was quite unsettling. I brought my own bags up to my room, accompanied by the manager, to discover there was NO AIR CON. The listing for my room clearly shows the SPARTEL DOUBLE ROOM had AIR CON. I have a health issue that requires I do not get overly hot. I asked if there where rooms WITH AC and was told they had 3 rooms with AC and all were booked during the entirety of my stay. I went through a lengthy process of showing the booking details to the manager. I stayed ONE night, as I had arrived late, and moved 100 meters down the street after breakfast to a lovely hotel that had AC, and POLITE management. I requested a refund in person and was told by the manager to go through Booking.com. Since June 25th, I have been trying to get a refund from this property through Booking.com. To date, my efforts have been unsuccessful. This property LIED about the room offering and put my health in danger. I attached a picture with yellow highlight showing AC was in the room. Today, July 14th, I sent the same information for the THIRD time to Booking.com 17-July UPDATE: Booking.com alerted me they were unable to reach an agreement with Dar Sultam. Booking.com offered me a partial refund for this booking. After that refund from Booking.com, I am left paying over $700 US for a stay at Dar Sultan that did not take place. 17-July UPDATE #2: Your response is inaccurate. I arrived in Tangier at 3:30PM. The room had no air con equipment installed! The manager told me TWO times the loud call was with a customer with a payment dispute. The fan was small with one broken foot. I told your manager on the 24th I would leave and asked for a refund. I checked out on the 25th, gave the key to your wife, and left with my packed bags. The room details clearly show AC that did not exist.

Great location in the old medina, with a smile welcome you reach the accommodation to see how it is wonderful with great facilities, quiet room, fully breakfast and gorgeous terrace. I love it.

The location was amazing right in the Kasbah. The terrace and rooftop are both really nice! Greats views of the city. The staff were all very nice and great. English language is not the best so just a warning it was hard to communicate but that’s not their fault at all!
Check in time took way too long. We got put in a room and came back after a night out with all of our belongings being packed as they put us in a room that someone else had booked. This was not okay for them to touch and pack our belongings. This kind of soured the stay there.

Very good location in the historic Kasbah of Tangier. Excellent breakfast served on the pretty top floor terrace.
The perilous stairs to access all floors! Very, very steep and narrow, and those with limited mobility would find it almost impossible.

We had the most memorable experience at Dar Sultan. So much thought and detail has been put into this hotel. Everyone who works here is so kind and helpful. The breakfast was delicious, the room and bed were perfect and it was inside the Kasbah! I would 100% recommend this hotel to family and friends and hope to go back again. Thank you for having us.

Beautiful property and fantastic staff.
Multiple openings, some large, some small, from bedroom to bathroom that cannot be closed for bathroom privacy. Sewer smell from pipes permeates the entire room.

Amazing property, Neat clean, center to everything and rooms were neat and clean.
There was an issue with the invoice, I paid fully in advance for everything and just when I was about to leave/checkout i was handed over a tax bill which was handwritten and was asked to pay in cash. I told them i can pay card but they kept insisting on cash. It was very dodgey situation after an argument of 10 mins, I told them I am leaving as my taxi is here and they took the handwritten bill back from me and walked away. It seemed like the staff wanted to skim me.

The location was excellent. A short walk to all of the Medina. Right around the corner from the best restaurant in Tangier, The Morocco Club. The breakfast was amazing. The staff were awesome. The entire team looked after us very well and arranged tours and taxis for us. We cannot thank them enough. We would stay at the Dar Sultan every time we visit Tangier.

The location was very good and the view from the terrace was amazing.
We enjoyed a very nice dinner on our first night.

A very small room and a tiny bathroom.
Mostly the same breakfast for the three days we stayed, Same cake and stewed fruit and the fresh fruit on our last day was some very tired grapes. Could improve variety and freshness.

The staff and the hotel were amazing! We were greeted immediately and asked if we’d liked tea or coffee and we were brought out some local pastries. It was a much welcome, greeting, and reprieve after the trip on the ferry and walking with our luggage to the hotel. The room was beautifully decorated with very thoughtful details. We were loved water and treats for the evening in our room, along with chocolate, so our pillow. We were asked if we’d like anything in the evening and had some more tea. In the morning the breakfast was served on the patio upstairs and it was the most amazing spread. Everyone asked if we could they could get us anything else.

The staff is very engaging and personable. They are very good at making their guests feel comfortable. The decorations are colorful and reflect the city. There is a beautiful view from the rooftop terrace where you can have breakfast. They prepared a special dinner for us one night that was the best one we had during our 4 day stay in Tangier. I have celiac disease and they were very careful in excluding gluten from my fabulous meals. The location is perfect in the heights above the fray of the port but close to beautiful views of the Strait of Gibraltar. It’s also just inside the Kasbah making it easy to find your way around from there.
There isn’t anything I did not like though the size of the room we had was on the cozy side
