Very Poor
Nothing really. The staff was nice that's all.
The pics are not what it looks like in person. This is not a 5 star hotel. The rooms are small and run down. I will put this in a 2 star category.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay here. The staff was super helpful. The medina it'self is difficult to stay in. There is a lot happening there that most westerners might feel uncomfortable with but getting to this Riad each night was the highlight of our trip.

Staff was very friendly and helpful.
The beds ver very hard. Location was not ideal for us. Close to the market but didn’t feel like we were close to anything else in the city

Good
Riad Star was the most expensive riad that we stayed at in Morocco and had great reviews (including in the Lonely Planet) so I had high expectations. It was very well-located. The staff was super friendly and the breakfast was tasty (but extremely slow).
There were some issues, however. Our room was spacious, but the third bed was inset and extremely short for my nearly 6 foot son. Most of the electric outlets did not work or were wired in a way that made them crackle. This made charging three phones and other devices really complicated. The toliet leaked and the room was incredibly loud. It opened onto the interior courtyard and we heard people blasting their phones and talking in that area until midnight nearly every night. We could hear our downstairs neighbors as well. I would strongly encourage the Riad to enforce quiet hours. At this price point, things should be tranquil and relaxing.

Wonderful
The riad has a nice aesthetic overall. The staff is very courteous and helpful. The breakfast was good, with typical Moroccan items, and eggs to order and fresh orange juice. The water temperature was good in the bathroom. The rooftop is very nice with different cozy areas. The location, as with many riads, requires walking down a few narrow streets to get to the souks or to the taxi stand, so would not be ideal for those who want to minimize walking distances.
Some members of our group found the beds uncomfortable, while others had no issues. The in room safes should be updated with newer models that are larger and easier to use.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Unforgettable Stay at Riad Star.
Our stay at Riad Star was absolutely exceptional — a perfect blend of comfort, charm, and genuine Moroccan hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Ali and Mourad, who truly went above and beyond to make our visit unforgettable.
The riad itself is stunning — beautifully designed with elegant details that reflect both history and style. Our room was spacious, immaculately clean, and full of character. Every corner of the riad felt peaceful, and the rooftop terrace offered the perfect place to relax after exploring the vibrant streets of Marrakech.
What made our stay truly special was the outstanding service. Ali and Mourad were always available with a smile, ready to help with anything we needed — from arranging transfers and recommending restaurants to sharing insider tips about the city. Their kindness and professionalism made us feel completely at home.
The breakfast each morning was another highlight — fresh, delicious, and served with care. Every day felt personalized and thoughtfully prepared.
We’ve stayed in many places around Morocco, but Riad Star stands out as one of the very best. If you’re looking for a riad that combines elegance, comfort, and warm hospitality, look no further.
Thank you, AbdelAli and Mourad, for making our stay so memorable — we can’t wait to return!

I think the spa was not open. I asked multiple times before going to the hotel and I received no answer for it. Only some days before, I was told that I could book on site. When I was there I was told that there was no spot available (during our stay, we did not see any other guests). I chose this accommodation also because of the spa option, but I could not have access to it.

the best thing about the structure is the staff. young guys and all very helpful at any time. really kind and good. the structure is beautiful but there are better ones. however the price is correct. very good breakfast on the terrace. bathrooms to be redone (shower works badly) there is no water drain. in short the camera just sufficient. but thanks to the staff everything is forgiven. thanks from the Italians.

overall, our trip was great.
you should imform visitoris about potential scams, as we unfortunately got scammed at the end of the road as this group of boys at the end of the road telling us that the road was shut due to the Mosque being on. They then continued to lead us down a different road and then resulted in us giving them money for the wrong directions. was not a nice experience at all and we did not feel safe going back to our riad or leaving.

Lovely riad in a great location. The staff were lovely, especially Lahcen who went out of his way to find a cell phone we’d left in a taxi. He got it back in less than two hours.

Great location near a couple of really good restaurants, lovely refurbishment of an old riad.
Rooms very small compared to photos.
Breakfast was supposed to start at 8, but staff didn’t start till 8, so twice took over an hour to come after ordering. Cold pancakes and yesterday’s stale bread served.
Pool was more of a big bath with a crust of flies on the surface - no one went in it when we were there. All the furniture needs a good deep clean: dusting, cleaning upholstery, wiping table surfaces.
Stingy on towels which were greying and stiff. No hand towel in ground floor loo despite repeated requests.

Disappointing
We were really excited for our stay in the house formerly occupied by Josephine Baker and the promises made in the website and other promotional material. For the rates that were charged the service was pretty poor. The location while good was also very noisy. Breakfast was underwhelming. Staff were very sweet but clearly lacked training in handling a hotel (dirty towels and not very clean rooms). Overall while the property has a certain charm it certainly did not live up to the hype on its website.

Our taxidriver called the hotel for collecting us from a parking close to the hotel, to guide us to the entrance.
Such a friendly and nice boy. But no advertising sign outside on the hotel, very strange.
The room had NOT been updated for a very long time and the shower walls are always wet. Breakfast was okay but started a little late, but again the girls were very kind and friendly.
Close to the hotel are several good restaurants and the small shops within a few minutes walking.
We cancelled the last night.

Hajar and the kitchen staff did an excellent job making us delicious breakfasts, and the opening night special lamb tagine was SOooo good. Lahcen, Alli, and the rest of the men were very helpful in introducing us to the winding streets of the souks - often as a personal guide from one destination to another. Also helpful arranging taxis and tours. We came there because of the Josephine Baker connection and could imagine her life there. Happy to peruse several of the books about her in the library. The plaster work on the walls and ceilings of the public rooms was over the top lovely.
Room with costumes was so dusty we each got allergy reactions. The rest of the building was fine. View from the roof was special.

Wonderful
The riad was very fresh and clean with friendly and attentive staff. The rooftop was our favourite place to be: spacious, calming and with a view on the city.
A little bit sterile, warmer lights would have been nice.
We woke up the last morning with a room filled with about half a centimeter of water on the floor after the nights rain. Thankfully our stuff didn’t get wet, and we could simply pack and leave the room after having breakfast. The breakfast area was also wet, which they only started wiping after we asked them to. It would have been preferable if the breakfast area was already dry when we got there, and that they would fix our room while we had breakfast.
