The pluses are certainly the cleanliness of the riad and the extremely nice administrator, who specially got up at dawn to prepare breakfast for us at 6 a.m. We even got warm scrambled eggs . Riad located just off the Jemaa el-fnaa square, in close proximity to the most important souks.
1. The owner was on a business trip, so we were welcomed by riad employees who spoke only Arabic or French. They did not know what to do with us. Google translator helped. Unfortunately, because of this we lost about an hour. Administrator came in the evening. 2. Uncomfortable bed to sleep on, worn out mattresses? 3. Very acoustic riad, nightly conversations of guests disturbed the rest. 4. Poor internet.

The staff are great and very helpful. They have gone out of their way to help my brother and I. They have fed us and ordered us a Taxi- they are the best!

A nice location in Marrakech and easy to get to. Very clean and tidy inside. View from the rooftop is ok but with high walls you cant see much, still pleasant enough spending time in the evenings up there. Breakfast was good. The room itself was tidy.
Very noisy at night with guests entering and leaving their rooms.
Communication from staff was very lacking. Didnt feel particularly welcoming. Hardly a word was said to us during our time there.
Hardly even a goodbye when we were leaving or a thank you for staying with us. Could be due to the language barrier but smiles are universally understood.
Door was constantly locked behind us and when wed get back wed always have to wait to be let in again which was a little annoying.

Exceptionally clean and comfortable, the staff and in particular, Mohammed were incredibly accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. They were able to hold my bags whilst on a desert trek and even washed some clothing whilst I was away. The stream of mint tea was endless! A very Moroccan experience, would stay again if Im ever back in Marrakesh, perfectly located right on the edge of the Medina which makes getting luggage in and out a total breeze.

The property had an excellent location, close to the main attractions by walk and it had a very warm and cose atmosphere. The support provided by Mohammed was superb and I highly recommend you talking to the staff before doing plans in the city, because they can help you in so many ways.
Everything was perfect and liked it very much

Great location - Jemaa el-Fnaa is out the front door but its super quiet in the rooms - warm welcome, excellent breakfast on the rooftop terrace with views, & an authentic ambience throughout.
Nothing - it was a great stay.

A gorgeous Riad in a wonderful location.
Just inside the walls of the Medina, in a quiet side alley, Riad Bel Haj is a wonderful place to stay. Comfortable, clean and quiet with friendly, kind staff and simple, stylish and comfortable rooms.
A delicious breakfast was served on the sunny roof terrace.
The location is fantastic, a short walk to the Souk, so we felt very safe exploring on foot, day and night. But also minutes from the walls of the Medina, so arrival with suitcases was easy and taxis were close by when needed.
Nothing

Everything was good. Clean and quiet Riad for relax and sleep without street noise. It was very hot weather during my visit so the architecture of the Riad keeps a fresh temperature and nice breeze during midday time, that was nice. Location is very good as its central and very close to the main square, just a few minutes walking, so very easy to find it if you travel for first time to Marrakech. Mohamed always ready to help you and to give you some good tips about the city. Breakfast in the roof terrace was awesome, including views to the Koutubia.
Nothing. Everything was very good.

The team at Riad Bel Haj are wonderful. They are incredibly kind, polite and work very very hard. Mohammed is a great host and his team are very good at what they do!
Im sure its the same in all Riads due to the nature of the set up/ tiles everywhere but just be aware that because its so quiet, you can hear everything and sometimes that can be disturbing at night- although because our Riad had a small amount of rooms this wasnt a huge problem for us!

Wonderful
Marrakech is a safe place and this Riad is located just inside the Medina which gives you the best of both worlds. Authenticity of staying in a Riad in the Medina in the heart of the Red City, but also you are next to a main city gate and onward travel from there is convenient as a short walk away for taxi's etc.Hotels are pretty much the same evrywhere so staying in a Riad is different. Very personal and friendly as only a few guests; however that didnt impact on level of service. Room cleaned daily and breakfast on the terrace was always good and fresh.

We loved the service at the hotel, they were all really kind and helpful. The room itself was not large, but there was enough room for the king sized bed, a small couch and to squeeze our big luggage. We were in a superior room. We got glimpses of the others and they did look quite a bit smaller. The bathroom was good, nice that the shower had a detachable head and good pressure. There is an air conditioner as well. The garden was nice, smelled like.roses. They served us tea when we arrived and that was wonderful. The breakfast was great! We had an egg, bread, a local crepe with jam or honey, fruit, fresh juice (and I mean fresh) and coffee. They also offered tea. Very generous spread and always tasty. The location was amazing! It's kind of the center of everything, I don't think we had to walk more than 15 min anywhere. It was also so quiet, peaceful. I would recommend this place.
There wasn't a TV in the room. It may have made that clear in the description but I didn't catch it so it was just a surprise. Not a huge deal, especially since we had a laptop we could use if we wanted to throw a show on at night before going to sleep. I would just say if you are used to that/want that be sure to bring a device to play it on. This isn't a con, but just be prepared for stairs! We overpack and had big luggage that had to be brought up some narrow, steep stairs. They helped us which was so generous, but we did carry them down. Not our first time dealing with this traveling though. Also the area is a great for walking but it's chaotic! Just be prepared for that and you will have a great time.
