The room and facilities were not accurately portrayed. The photos were enhanced. Rooms were smaller and the place felt cold and damp. The owner was miserable and over charged us. We left 3 days earlier as we were so uncomfortable.

Everything was perfect.

We were overall disappointed in our stay. We meticulously researched our stay and relied upon reviews when selecting a riad for our first and likely only trip to Morocco. We were excited about true riads courtyard. We were expecting to relax at the pool and read in the courtyard especially as it was expected to be very hot during our stay. Everyday of a 6 night stay there was major construction with at least 3-4 men plastering and painting the courtyard, refinishing the bathrooms with tile and painting all the walls and doors. The seats were covered with plastic and the seating area pictured in the shade was not even present. It was inside and covered and all Pictured online was not even useable. Only After 5 night stay the owner contacted about another reason and stated she would have the workers stop immediately when we wanted to use the pool. This was encouraging however when we informed the concierge we were ready to use the pool, they simply removed the plastic from the chairs. We were then covered with plaster and paint ruining our beverages and books. We had to move back to our room And no apology was offered. Plaster also entered the pool making it unusable. There should have been a notice prior to booking. Had we known we would have 100 Percent chosen another riad. It is very disappointing this is where we had to experience our once in a lifetime Stay in marrakesh. Otherwise, the suite with balcony was nice and comfortable and as pictured online. The air conditioning worked great. The room was clean and breakfast was offered on the patio. The service from staff was great but there was just no communication about the construction and empty promises to have them stop When requested.

One thing to be aware of: it's a long walk from the place a car drops you off or picks you up, to the hotel. It's fine if you are young and able, however this was a little tough on my mom, so we hired a tuktuk a few times or she would stop and rest and then continue on.

The laneway to the Riad felt a bit too quiet at first but then we realised there are many Riad's and tourists coming and going on the laneway. We always felt safe.

No bottled water in the room (it’s easy to buy locally but would have been handy to have)
