The location is very good. Close to Bahia palace and the Djema el Fnaa is less than 10min walk away. The Dar is beautiful, the courtyard is very well set. The terrace is a nice place to chill in the evenings. At the check in we were greeted Mehdi, a very kind and competent guy. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and settle. He shared us the map for Marrakesh Medina and gave us some helpful hints. He also gave us his contact number to contact if needed. He prepared for us fruits for the day we had to leave early for a tour. It was a very pleasant experience for us.
Our room was a bit tiny for the price. There was very little space to move around.

This was sweet and blissful stay! The Riad is located down a quiet side street at the mouth of the Medina, near the Jewish quarter and nestled between the Bahia and Badi palaces, which made the location feel a wonderful secret yet central. It also sits at the start to streets that lead up to the Medina, so you are near to everything you need to visit and explore. The interior is beautiful; like all Riads, the magic is on the inside, behind old wooden doors that you wouldn't think housed such an oasis. Inside here were cool white pillars, a plunge pool, an open atrium, and in the centre an old palm tree as tall as the building, proving this Riad's authenticity (whilst providing homes to the birds that great you with a dawn chorus on sunrise). They have a superb terrace from which you can see the Atlas Mountains and across the city. The room was comfortable and I slept well. The staff, Zaq and Mahdi, were incredibly welcoming and helpful. I initially had trouble finding the street, yet Mahdi kindly ventured out to collect me. They later helped with orienteering, pointing out where to go on the map, explaining the history of the area, best places to eat, so you wouldn't need a guide book. They also took care of my luggage so I could explore the city before a late flight, post check-out. I only stayed for one night, and it was hard to leave.. The memory of watching the sun rise from their perfect terrace is one of the best memories from my trip to Marrakesh. I will definitely return, to the city and to this Riad.
Worth downloading maps.me (which works without wifi / data but uses your location - lesson learned) to help find the Riad as it's not a street a taxi can pull up in front of, so the last few metres need to be on foot.

Dark Cristal is beautifully decorated, it's patio is astonishing!. Such a stylish place :). It's staff were welcoming, helpful and true professionals who enjoy their job. Mahdi was such an attentive staff who looked after us taking care of every detail. We really appreciated Mahdi's recommendations, good manners and sense of humour. We'll definitely visit Mahdi in our next trip to Marrakesh. Thanks Mahdi! A real pleasure meeting you !!
Our room was facing the patio which made it a bit noisy. Also, we had to keep windows closed when we wanted privacy because the windows were facing the patio were other guests were sitting. The bed was too hard, it wasn't very comfortable.

The Riad was very nice, near all the attractions but in a quite zone. It is a kind of peace oasis in the caos of the city.
In the night the street to arrive to the riad could seem a little bit scaring but I think that it is something very common in Marrakech, anyway we didn't have any problem.
Mahdi the host is a fantastic person, always ready to help you, and he is a plus to the place.
Breakfast is very very nice.
I recommend this riad to everyone that want to pass some nights in Marrakech
The beds are a little bit hard but it is something very common in all the country, we found the same kind of beds in every hotel.

We had a lovely stay at Dar Crystal. The Riad is beautiful, the location is great (walking distance to main attractions) but above all the staf went above and beyond to help us find our way and ensure we had a good stay. We would 100% recommend this Riad and happily stay again when we return.
Our bed was a bit hard for our taste but nice and big so it didnt bother us too much.

Staff were great and accommodated all of our needs (especially Zack). Room was great. Terrace area was great and we thought that breakfast was very good.
The only thing to mention is that the pool was empty but I presume that is normal as it's only march.

This riad absolutely exceeded our expectations! It is truly beautiful. Zakaria and Mahdi were so kind and very helpful in helping us figure out how to get around the downtown streets. The location is also very convenient to get around easily on foot and see all the characteristic areas. I highly recommend the riad Dar Crystal!
