From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel completely welcome. Everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful, and genuinely excited to make sure guests were having a great time. They created a relaxed and great social atmosphere. impossible not to meet new people and feel at home right away.
There was always something fun going on which made the whole experience so much more than just a place to sleep. It felt like being part of a community rather than just staying at a hostel.
For one of us, it was the second time at the hostel and it was great to see familiar faces, specially Monika with her kind and bubbly personality.
A huge shoutout to Hugo who truly made sure all activities were fun. Great energy and making sure everyone was included and having fun made all activities great.
If you’re looking for a hostel with amazing vibes, fantastic staff, and nonstop fun, I can’t recommend Naughty Squirrel enough. I’d 100% stay here again!

If I didn't have to haul my roller bag up stairs but no one can help that. You have to go up stairs to get there.

Friendly service from beginning to end. The place has a great vibe with daily activities, a bar and nightly pub crawls. The location is relatively central and a short walk from the bus station. Bed was comfortable with privacy curtains 0 bathrooms were clean. The complimentary items in the kitchen were a nice touch. Highly recommended

It was my first time in a hostel, I didn't know what to expect, but I'm really grateful. They offer a great environment, the staff was super nice and helpful, in general the premises are in good shape, the bed was comfortable, it was clean. They have an amazing music playlist, I was working, so it was suited for that at well. And the location is insanely amazing, I basically walked to every place of interest and it was perfect. You have a lot of stores around you, cafes, drugstores, restaurants. I highly recommend it.
The rooms could get too hot, even with the fans on you could feel a bit suffocated. Also I would recommend to put bigger trash cans in the toilets, right now they are too small and the paper towels fill them completely at night and they start to spill all over the place and that doesn't give a good aspect.

Everything was incredibly clean and well maintained. Staff obviously put a lot of effort into that and giving travellers a good time.
Nothing really, only thing was paying €8 for laundry and it taking about twelve hours, but it was a nice feature to have.

The staff was very attentive, helpful and just great vibes! We attended different activities during our stay and the host was great at making us all feel like a "group", getting to know each other and just making the time such fun - special shout out to Rachel, who did such a great job!
All in all we would definitely recommend people staying here when visiting Riga.
The only bad thing I can say, is the mattress being a bit too hard and the lightning in the private room a bit too

In response to your comment, I did notify the front desk lady in advance of checking out later so I can visit the library right when it opened because it was closed the day before. The lady who was in charge of check out on Monday, June 30 needs to have basic customer service training (otherwise I would’ve given you a 10 star rating - she was that rude)! Also, the hostel was not fully booked. My room was 40% sold in the 4 nights I was there. While I appreciate you standing up for your staff this is a friendly reminder that without paying customers their job wouldn’t exist!

I met some nice people at Naughty Squirrel, however, in the 1,000+ hostels I’ve stayed in over 75 countries I never came across someone so rude as the lady at the front desk while checking out on Monday, June 30. I informed her in advance I was going to be checking out late because the Riga library was closed the day before and I wanted to visit it at 10am when it opened (I ended up checking out 40 minutes past 11am) and she told me it wasn’t possible and she had to charge me 10 euros. At first I told her I didn’t think it was fair to pay because the hostel is empty anyways then we agreed on 5 euros. Then she changed her mind and told me I had to leave immediately and the cleaning guy physically threatened me to leave as well. I still can’t believe a place with such high reviews would treat their customers this way. Now I know why everyone told me Cinnamon Sally is better!

There was nothing to dislike about this hostel.
Exceptional.
The communication from the hostel prior to arrival was a nice touch to begin with,it just got better.
Wow, was the place clean.can put to shame most European hotels.
I booked an eight bed mixed dorm.
Big comfortable mattress, clean sheets and complementary towel.Again, clean and no odd smells.
The girls on reception were friendly and very helpful.
Being rather a lot older than the regular backpacker wasn't a problem.
I think maybe as it was early in the season..?
I was immediately made to feel welcome by the staff and invited to join group activities they had arranged..
This is the most I have written as a review for anything, it was that good.
