We were a small city hopping group and the A1 totally fulfilled our expectations. Very good location for exploring the city. Close by shops, restaurants and tram station. Friendly staff.
In our room they was no way to regulate the heater, so it was really warm and we had to counter with the AC or leaving the window open.

Pleasant
Size of the room is great, and no carpet which is a plus. Location is great, just a few mins walk from main train station. The hotel has its own pool and snooker hall with a wee bar near the reception.
Staff barely spoke english, bad plumbing and bad smell in the bathroom.

Supportive staff. Billiard available. Warm room. Pizza restaurant next to the hotel.

Everything was good and matched our expectations, we happened to get a room with AC that actually even exceeded our expectations as we thought they didn't have such rooms at all. Asked for a twin -> got twin. Simple breakfast, nothing to complain about. Might be a turnoff for someone that there's no elevator but the hotel indicated that clearly from the get-go so it wasn't an issue for us. Great budget option!
With the price I paid I don't expect much, but a smile here and there from the staff would've made me more welcomed.

very close to center, nice view from rooms
alot of stairs to get up to the room, if you have heavy bags not the most comfortable. Also breakfast could be a bit more choices.

I especially liked the location. It is close to Gertrude's church with many shops (a supermarket that is open until 23:00 and a Lido close by).The room was good, clean with everything you need. You can open the window. Breakfast buffet was good.
It was a bit loud, especially on Friday and Saturday night I could here noises from the street and sometimes from other rooms. There is no lift and my room was on the third floor.

Everything was old and antiquated from the stairs to the room. Also no soundproofing for the window on a busy street.

Hotel was fine, location is great, close to the city center, we got our room at 11:00, all the facilities you can expect are in place. It was a good stay for a cheap price.
Some smell of old stuff in the hotel, 4th floor without a lift, breakfast is rather small and didn't like taste of boiled eggs and omelette

good breakfast, very good location (very close to the city centre, to bus, troley, tram stop)
a little bit of noise from outside, but again it didn't matter so much I would have welcomed a cream and make-up wipes in the bathroom. Even so, everything was fine
