- If you’re heading to Yala National Park, Rivosen Camp Yala Safari might be up your street. - Located close the entrance of Yala National Park, this accommodation is really off the beaten track. - This is the perfect opportunity to go off-grid and you’ll be well looked after by the very kind local staff. - One example of this was when I didn’t have the right plug to charge my phone and they took it home for a few hours and returned it to me, fully charged. - During my stay, one of the guys brought me to Kirinda and the local beaches. - I was the only tourist and it really felt like a unique adventure. - Manjula and his team prepared local breakfast, lunch and dinner and really did all they could to make me feel welcome. This is one place where you certainly won’t go hungry. - The accommodation at first glance is very rustic and definitely not for everyone but I actually slept like a baby. - They also set up a bonfire and you can sit under the stars at night under the clear skies. - I was up at 4:30am for the Safari, all arranged by Manju. They also prepare a packed lunch for the Safari which was very kind of them. When I got back, breakfast was ready. While their English is limited, all the team made a great effort to chat with me, sharing about their family and lives in Sri Lanka. - This is one experience I know I’ll talk about for years to come and that alone gives this place a 10/10.

Rivosen Camp Yala Safari was awesome! Manjula and Buddika smile’s were very contagious, always making sure we had everything we needed. They have few meal package options, and I highly recommend selecting one, because Buddika cooked multiple Sri Lankan dishes (vegetarian options available) for us and each of them were absolutely delicious. The camp is situated at the border of Yala National Park, therefore during our stay, we saw different wildlife crossing the campground. The location was also very convenient as it is only 15 minutes from the entrance gate of the park. Manjula kindly helped us to organize a Safari tour for the following morning. During our fresh up shower, we had many eyes watching us, as cute frogs and friendly geckos were co-habituating the bathroom. The bed was very comfy and the hotel-like linen were as white as we ever seen in Sri Lanka so far. This place was the perfect little nature retreat, and we loved everything about it. We were spoiled with delicious food, kindness from the owners and an amazing wildlife experience. Manjula and Buddika will do everything to make you happy.
