Lovely hosts and great room. We were in two bedroom which shares a bathroom - there is one bedroom and then you need to walk through another bedroom to get to the bathroom.

What a gem! Villa Gaetano is tucked away from the bustle of Unawatuna but still close enough to access restaurants and shops. We were so comfortable here we could have stayed much longer… and the pool was so welcome on the hot days. Out hosts were also incredible- kind, thoughtful and attentive!

The cleanliness and the state of the facility are the best we had in our three weeks trip through Sri Lanka. We used the pool in the evening and that was very pleasant. The food is freshly prepared and kudos to the top family team who made us feel very welcome.

Undoubtedly the warmest welcome we have experienced in many years of holidays.. Owner Melani, her husband and their staff (Bavee is a real hero) are so friendly and really do everything to make you feel at home. Our apartment was very spacious and very tastefully decorated. The garden is a gem. Breakfast and dinner are very tasty. The only downside I can mention is that the sun loungers by the pool need replacing. The villa is quietly located, 5 minutes by tuktuk to the center of Unawatuna or the beaches (the hotel's tuktuk service costs you 600 LKR). We are at the beginning of our roundtrip through Sri Lanka. Still 8 hotels to go but we fear that the best stay is already behind us: the fantastic Villa Gaetano!

This guesthouse is in a tropical paradise, surrounded by lush trees and SO much nature and wildlife. The gardens are beautifully kept and so peaceful. The only sounds are from the birds in the trees. This guesthouse is a 10 min drive to the main part or Unawatuna and away from the crowds. The pool is fab. Melani (owner) and her team are amazing- it’s a family affair and they are so attentive. They have tuk tuks and are happy to drive you around Unawatuna at a fee. The breakfast and dinner is delicious and freshly cooked. The kids loved spotting the monkey’s, monitor lizards, chipmunks and birds every day. We will definitely be back.

The villa was awesome to enjoy silence & calmness!! The rooms were very neat & clean. The washroom was very big in size like the room. The old fashioned antique look interior gave us a very different feel. The villa stuffs were very helpful & well behaved specially Melani was too caring. The greenary & the silence of the villa gave us tranquility!
The breakfast & the cooking was very good in taste.
The authority could add toothbrush,comb & paste for guests!!!Also room lighting & fan needs to be increased!!

Property was very clean, room was spacious, breakfast was amazing and staff were very friendly and hard working. They were so lovely and even organised a scooter rental for the duration of stay. Breakfast was fantastic. There were wild monkeys in the garden that was beautiful to see. Everything was great, I would stay here again.

My girlfriend and I had such a wonderful stay at Villa Gaetano. Such a peaceful place with lovely staff. They took good care of us, let us check in earlier, made excellent breakfast and even better dinner. We had crab and fish for dinner and we really enjoyed it. It is located a little bit out of the city centre which is nice and quiet. We rented a scooter for some of the days from the hotel. We loved every bit of our stay ?
The pool could be a bit more clean and there is some noise because they are building new rooms at the property, but it does at change the fact that it was a 10/10 stay ??
