Peaceful,quiet location.
Room very clean and comfortable.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Sri Lankan breakfast tasty and beautifully presented.
Everything was good.
Access (short cut) to main restaurant street not great but other option is long walk on busy road.

We really loved coming back to Nor Lanka and whilst there have been changes its still a lovely place to stay. The breakfast is amazing, dinner really good and great value for money, the staff are great and its in a convenient spot just off the beach and far enough away from the busy main street to be quiet but close enough to easily reach. Standards are still good. There are a couple of new outside sitting areas since our last visit which are a great addition. Our first room was a family room which was great, on the first floor with a balcony looking out on to a bit of the jungle.
We moved rooms as we stayed under 2 separate bookings. Our second room was on the ground floor and not to our taste. It was spacious and very clean but it was dark, the outside space at the back was very shaded so we tended to sit out at the front in the sun. Due to the climate the room smelt damp. If you book make sure that you ask for a room on the first or second floor which are great,

A feeling of a family business, very kind and caring workers. Walking barefoot on the territory makes it feel like visiting friends’ house.
Close to the beach and touristic street.
Tasty breakfast: fresh juice, toasts with jam, eggs with veggies, fruits
It didn’t smell well in bath room. After cleaning lady it became better, but not for long. We only had a chance to stay there for 2 days, i’m sure, they would fix the problem if we stayed there for longer time

The breakfast was fantastic, probably the best we had in Sri Lanka hotels. The room was also super clean and the bed had a mosquito net, which was very handy.
The only thing was that we had to pay for the laundry separately when we checked-out, so we had to do that with cash. But this was a minor thing.

Everything was perfect! The Room was superclean and charming. They offer extra services (like towels for the beach, sunlotion, umbrella in case of rain… ) and the staff is superhelpfull and they do everything with a smile. Truly positive vibes and the only pity is that I spent only 2 nights !

This is a really lovely, relaxed hotel. Low key but providing comfortable rooms and a great breakfast. Staff are super friendly and the garden and outdoor dining room are beautiful.

A really lovely calm, relaxing, clean and quiet place to stay.
I stayed 4 nights but could have stayed longer, like others guests seemed to be.
Very close to the beach (once you've figured out how to get there!) yet set back away from the bustle in a pleasant garden with cool areas to lounge in
The food is absolutely excellent. The 'local breakfast' one of the best ever (and they even managed to present it in an arty and cheffy way, no mean feat with string hoppers and dhal curry!) The vegetable rice n curry dinner also was delicious.
Helpful, smiling staff who seem to be on duty 24/7
Comfortable bed, hot shower, tasteful stone bathroom.
I hope I get to stay here again.
It's not on the main drag, which is a good thing but it's a little harder to find (until you know) and it means not such a wide choice of eating places at night. There's an excellent new place just around the corner though, serving authentic Italian dishes for a change.
About 95% of the guests seemed to be of a certain nationality, not a problem, but they weren't at all friendly. Only one person even acknowledged me in the 4 days I was there, so if you're looking for someone to chat to, better bring someone with ?
It's a wee bit pricey for Sri Lanka. But then, it's Unawatuna. it's probably worth the extra.

Great place!
Very polite staff, always ready to help with any issue. The smile of the hostess lit up our lives! Sitting on the veranda in the evening, listening to the birds and chipmunks - it's amazing!
The room is quite dark due to the walls.
But you didn't come to Sri Lanka to sit in your room, right?!
