Location across the street from the beach and close to decent restaurants was convenient. Also very close to the bus stop to/from Galle. Good AC and ceiling fan. Nice shower. Very kind owners and staff.
I was offered ear plugs by the host which made me worry about the street noise (traffic) but honestly it as not bad at all and I slept soundly without them.

Great location, incredibly friendly family who let us leave our bags after check out, lovely spacious and clean room, and delicious breakfast. The hosts were so kind, helping us with directions for walking and transport and we couldn't recommend staying here enough.

Comfortable, clean, truly fantastic location meant I had a really really nice stay. The property was lovely and the room was spacious with a nice bathroom. Literally a 2 minute walk to the beaches and easy to get to Galle, as there is a bus stop right out the front of the guest house. Breakfast was lovely. Everything was great!
Walls are a bit thin - so it was easy to hear noise from outside. Traffic wasn’t such a big issue, but I could hear other people who were staying at the guest house. No problem for me but worth noting.

The family running the Guest House is amazing - so kind and hospitality focused. Always checking in to make sure everything is great. The breakfast is so good - home cooked to order, plentiful and delicious. The room is very comfortable with ac and mosquito nets. Nice common spaces to hang out outside too
Road noise can be a little loud with the busses but you get used to it - and it seems to be the same throughout town.

The hosts were lovely and always available to answer any questions we had as well as just chatting about Sri Lanka, so helpful. The room was nice with hot water and A/C and clean, we were at the back of property and there was some road noise but nothing to stop us sleeping. The location.was good and only a short walk across the road to the beach. We really enjoyed our stay here.

The stay in sams guest house was the best we had in Sri Lanka.So so clean n the hosts are excellent .They take care of every minute detail.The location is excellent walk across to beach n across the road is bus stand.Tje seating in the verandah is very beautiful.We spent our evening in the verandah.Tje hosts are such gracious people gave us a return souvenir too.Loved our stay n will definitely stay if ever back to unawatuna.

The lady was absolutely lovely and so helpful with tips and advice for the local area. She even gave me and my partner a gift at the end of our stay which was so sweet. The breakfast was delicious and so cheap too! £3 and you get toast, eggs of your choice, potatoes, salad, fruit and tea or coffee or juice! The beds are comfortable and it’s right next to a bus stop and the beach is a 3 minute walk.

Absolutely everything. We were travelling north so only stayed for one night but the host could not have been more helpful and kind!
The room was big with with AC and a nice shower.
There was plenty of room to park our tuktuk and more!
The location is perfect and walking distance to beach and restaurants.

The staff were absolutely amazing, so friendly and polite, checking in and making sure I had everything I needed. A shared fridge was also available which was perfect for my iced coffee and any leftovers from other restaurants. The room was more spacious than I anticipated with practical little touches including a huge clothes rack to dry your swimmers. A delicious home cooked continental breakfast- the best eggs I had in Sri Lanka. This stay was such good value for money for anyone looking for some quiet and affordable luxury.
The bed was a little too firm for me however I enjoy a really plush bed.
