Wonderful
Owner (moms), made a delicious dinner with lots of different curry options (1800/person). She also kept trying to give me snacks from their shop which was nice haha. Very kind owners, you can tell. The pool is a great feature as well! Bed and pillows were comfy, shower had good pressure.
It’s far from town (20min drive), they’ll help you organize a tuktuk but you can’t really walk anywhere.

The family that owns Peacock Villa are wonderful people who helped us organize a safari, get tuk tuks into town and even flag down a bus when we were leaving. The hotel was clean and the pool was perfect in the hot weather. The location is a bit far from town but the benefit is the nearby wildlife. We saw monkeys playing in the trees and an elephant hung around right across the street for a half hour. We loved it here and would recommend to anyone.

When we arrived at the accommodation, we were warmly welcomed with a drink, and the owners kindly made us lunch on short notice before our safari. We felt very comfortable at that point.

Amazing value at this wonderful family homestay. Our room was basic but had everything we needed. Our hosts were very kind & friendly. We ate lunch & dinner and the food was great and at less cost than any restaurant we have been to so far. Dinner had 12 different dishes of curry, rice, vegetables & fruit. We also booked an afternoon and morning safari through Peacock Villa which was very enjoyable. Don't miss out on the beautiful setting for the packed breakfast on the morning safari. We only stayed one night but will have very fond memories of our visit at Peacock Villa Resort.

This is a family run business and we appreciated very much their hospitality and the help the hosts provide. The house is spotless clean, the dinner, breakfast and lunch is cooked by the hosts, Sri Lanka dishes
We also did the safari with them and the drop off to yala.
This location is think is the best - just across the park so there is a high chance to sée éléphants even before you go in. We saw one huge one just a few mètres down the road.
We thank them for all and wish them the very best with the business.

The owners are so incredible and prepared a wonderful dinner for my friend and me. They really went above and beyond. The bed was comfortable and the facilities were clean. We had no trouble booking a safari to Udawalawe and saw so many elephants (and lots of baby elephants too).
I had some trouble with my scooter in the morning to bike south, and the entire family worked together to help me fix it. Wonderful people, wonderful stay.

The place is run by a family. They were so lovely, they took good care of us and served incredible delicious food!
Also the safari was a highlight of our trip! We saw a lot of elephants, crocodiles, a fox, peacocks and buffalo’s :-)

Shivanti + Nalaka were such warm friendly hosts and their food and safari were fantastic. We are all our meals at the villa because we couldn't get enough of it! Lovely new pool that has just been built. The rooms are simple but have everything you need and extremely reasonable. Would recommend to anyone!

The location is just 5 minutes from the national park, which makes a morning safari very convenient! The best part of this stay was the amazing host family — the wife is very attentive and a wonderful chef, preparing an abundant and delicious dinner and breakfast. The husband is kind and accommodating, offering to pick up / drop off and guide a safari at a very fair price. It made visiting Udawalawe a very comfortable experience, and as a solo female traveler I felt very safe!
Keep in mind that you’re basically at the national park — which means there will be some bugs/critters. This is to be expected, but good to note!

Really clean, incredibly kind family, the best Sri Lankan meals we had during the whole trip! We did a safari through them as well and saw lots of elephants. Including the ones just outside the accommodations from the porch.
Nothing. We wished we had stayed longer. Our kids really missed her cooking when we continued on to the rest of our trip.

The most wholesome and wonderful stay of our trip. The hosts were very kind and humble people and prepared delicious dinner as well as breakfast for us. The food was quite a feast in itself. You can also reach out to them if you need any transportation or booking with the safari, they will arrange it for you at good price. If lucky you could see the elephants wandering across the road too.

We had an amazing time at this home stay. We were accommodated by this hard-working family during our visit.
Amazing breakfast and dinner were served with care and generosity. Also, they provided helpful information and even provided chairs and snacks outside while we were waiting for the bus!
We did the safari with them too and we got to see so many animals, just being at the right place at the right moment. Also, you can catch many animals from the balcony of the house!

The hosts were amazing, it’s a real whole family effort! Delicious meals, warm hospitality, and also an amazing safari. Comfortable rooms, would recommend booking one with AC unless you are particularly good with heat! Right by Udawalawe National Park which means you can see lots of wildlife even from the balcony, there’s often an elephant watching you as you eat!

Great convenient location near the national park, they do an excellent job of organizing the safari, highly recommend the 7 hour one, we saw 30+ elephants! Also very kind family who made us a delicious feast for dinner. The room was comfortable.
It is in the middle of nature which comes with some insects and animals around, but not a problem!

The room was clean and comfortable! There were no bugs or mosquitos :) and the bathroom was also very clean!
The location is also amazing as it is opposite the national park, so it is a very short drive (maybe 10 minutes) to enter the national park, this made the safari very easy as we had some more time to sleep in!
We arrived a bit early the day before our safari and were greeted with some fresh juice whilst they got the room ready. We then headed to the elephant transit home and the family arranged a Tuktuk for a good price! It was amazing as we saw elephants on the road to and from the transit house, it was like doing a mini safari before the real safari! I messaged the family before my stay and they arranged the safari for me! I did the 7 hour safari and this was the perfect amount of time for me as I love elephants! It was a great experience as they also prepared a breakfast for me and my partner which we got to eat in the national park in front of this beautiful lake!
The dinner they made for us was also really good, one of the best meals I had in Sri Lanka!
The family were also so lovely and friendly! Some of the nicest people I have met!
Overall this was one of my favourite places I stayed in during my trip and would definitely recommend this place!

The Peacock Villa Resort is very conveniently located, just across the road from Udawalawe National Park. The host family are so helpful, which started even before we arrived. We were picked up by the family from our previous location, and were greeted with a refreshing yoghurt when we arrived. The hosts will literally organise everything for your stay, they cooked breakfast and dinner which had great variety and size, and each dish was explained which was a nice touch. They also organised our safari, and helped us with finding cheap travel to our next destination. Great shared balcony to relax on and meet other guests which gave the property a really nice atmosphere. Worth noting that, other than the National Park, there is not much else in the area, but the hosts provide all meals and there is shop downstairs, so you don’t actually need anything else. Great value for money.
