This place was amazing. Max organised everything for me, an amazing safari with the most fun driver, and my taxi to the next place. The pool was lovely to cool off in. I would 100% stay here again!

Max is a great host, organised our Safari for us and the property and setting is relaxing and peaceful. We had an issue with our rental car and were grateful for Max 's input regarding communicating with the rental car company (language!) which was sorted, we were grateful. We were able to return to our room after the safari at 10.30am to shower, pack and have breakfast - great service, thank you.

The host cancelled our booking as we had made our own arrangements for a safari with another operator and wanted to eat out. We had booked bed and breakfast only. We turned up at the property at around 15.00 to be met by owner who shouted at us and was aggressive. Appalling behaviour and breach of contract. Luckily it was low season so we found alternative accommodation. I have discovered other guests have suffered similar behaviour. I would most definitely NOT recommend this hotel

Max was a lovely host. Super friendly and organised a great safari for me. The rooms are good, and air-conditioning worked great. I had dinner and breakfast here, and both were generous in portion size and delicious. I would recommend if you are staying in Udawalawe.

Delicious breakfast, a kind and helpful host, and an incredibly well-organized, professional safari! The room itself was of high standard, equipped with a kettle, coffee, tea, and water, all at such an affordable price! The air conditioning was outstanding. The surroundings of the house, with a well-kept garden full of greenery, were delightful.

Everything. Have dinner here it was so tasty. Breakfast included was great post safari. Max organised everything, the driver for the safari was really knowledgable. Rooms were extremely comfortable with AC. Shower was good and had warm water.
WiFi didn’t really work. Download stuff prior or use internet. Not required as we stayed here for 24 hours.

One of the best accommodations on a three-week trip to Sri Lanka. The room is very clean, the bed is comfortable, the bathroom has toiletries (shampoo, body gel, hair conditioner, hair dryer...). The surroundings of the accommodation are very well maintained. We had breakfast and dinner twice, which were excellent and plentiful. (thanks to the owner's mother, who prepares fresh meals ?) The owner is very friendly, helpful, and knows how to advise. We booked a full-day safari through the accommodation. Our driver was an exceptional expert on the animals in the national park and a very good driver. If you are planning to visit Udawalawa National Park with your eyes closed, I recommend this accommodation and a tour of the park through the accommodation.

Really lovely rooms, Wi-Fi and AC, hot showers, mosquito nets. Max and his family were amazing hosts. The dinner and breakfast were exceptional. Max was so helpful in planning our safari and explaining the different options. He also recommended the elephant transit hotel nearby and gave us an itinerary for the day to see them and then do the safari in the afternoon, really valuable to have him explain the local attractions. Also, when we were leaving we were experiencing an issue with our rented TukTuk, max saw us and took us to a nearby mechanic and helped us to get the issue fixed. Couldn’t recommend this place enough if staying in Udawalawe and wanting to do the safari!

It was very roomy, air conditioning worked great, breakfast was great! Max was wonderful; we arrived from the airport area with a driver that we expected to pay in US funds, as we hadn’t yet been able to get to a western union to pick up our Sri Lankan currency. The driver did not understand and did not want to accept the US funds even though it was previously arranged. Max converted to LKR and every one was happy. He arranged a private safari to Udawalawe National park. Our driver, who works at the hotel was exceptionally! He pointed out all the various animals that we most definitely would have missed, he was patient and took us to areas you would not see on a regular tour. The highlight was seeing a mother elephant and baby so close you could see the hairs on their backs. Our only wish was that we stayed long enough to do Yala National park as well!
