The location is just 10-15mins walk to the park entry. The owner didn't pressure is to buy a safari with him (while others did) so you can stay at this accomodation and arrange your own safari in the morning.
Our room didn't have enough daylight. It only had a small window that didn't face the room directly. However, other rooms didn't seem to have this problem.
After the first night they offered us breakfast and we thought this was included in the room price, but it wasn't (they were correct as we double checked on booking.com). They charged us 4 000 for two people without asking what we actually wanted for breakfast. It was good, but also overpriced compared to other similar facilities and we didn't appreciate the lack of transparency about it.

The staff were so friendly, the owner Kuma was very kind and helpful with the Safari and seeing the baby elephants be fed, and his Mum was so amazing, super smiley and helpful and a very lovely woman

Excellent location to stay and do safari! The accommodation price was excellent for a clean room with bathroom, A/C, and breakfast included! We also had our laundry done there for a very fair price. Safari was wonderful as well- we were the first vehicle into the park in the morning.
I wish there were a few more options on the food menu, since there aren’t many places to get food nearby.

Very close to the National Park entrance- ideally located for a dawn safari (~5:30 am pickup). Clean rooms, comfy beds, good AC, nice garden surrounds. Some rooms didn't seem to have hot water, but in the tropics you barely need it anyway. Kuma and his staff were wonderfully helpful and friendly. Recommended.

You might think there is a catch with the price of a stay here. There isn’t. Kuma runs a safari trip which you can also purchase. There is no hard sell but it’s a no brainer and good value. Staying here means you are 5 mins from the park entrance and, hence, we were the 2nd vehicle in. That meant we got to the lake whilst the crocodiles were still out and about. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we had a super day.
The accommodation is clean and comfortable. We ate our dinner there as well, which was good value. All in all a good memorable trip.

We spent 1 night at the Lodge & the room was spacious, hosts very friendly & welcoming. The highlight was our afternoon safari (organised through Kuma). Our driver, of which I can't recall his name, was one of the most professional & knowledgeable drivers we have ever had on a Sri Lankan safari. We stopped when he spotted a bird, reptile, mammal & explained a little bit about each animal. It was a thoroughly memorable afternoon. We were lucky to see many elephants, even a baby elephant, crocodiles, monkeys, spotted deer, different bird species including hornbills, kingfishers, bee eaters, 3 of the 5 eagles, an Eurasian hooper, pair of Asian paradise flycatchers, peacocks. And soo many more. Thank you Kuma & Team

Everything was great, the location, the staff. Dinner was also arranged through their local family-owned restaurant, Laundry service was perfect, but above all we really enjoyed the half day safari which surpassed even our highest expectations. The driver was very knowledgeable and he seemed to get out of his way to give us a memorable experience. Strongly recommended!
The streetsellers produced a fair bit of noise every evening. And the local muslim call to prayer at 05:30 never seemed to end.

Very hospitable and sincere hosts, delicious homemade food, extremely helpful staff, clean room with a large comfortable bed. Peaceful environment surrounded by nature with birdsong, freshly squeezed juice and other gifts. It is convenient that lunch or dinner can be had on site or in another restaurant of the hosts, the food is delicious, we had a taste of local dishes and always - fresh fruit. The host organized a safari for two for us, listening to our interests Very satisfied with the professional safari guide, we saw and heard a lot. The host organized the rest of the trip, so we can continue the trip:)

Perfect location, close to the Safari entrance. Big and clean room. Friendly staff, very helpful! Delicious breakfast. They organized the safari, which was prepared really amazing - our driver was first everywhere and showed us many animals ;)

Very cute property with wonderful hosts. The location is the best you can get and the Safari they offer is a must!!! Experienced guide and worth the money! (the fee mainly consists of the entry ticket of the national park)…

Amazing place to stay for a safari tour. We had a half-day safari and could see a lot of animals including elephants, crocodiles, water buffalos, spotted deers, a lot of birds, and others. One of the best days during our trip around Sri Lanka!

This is the best place you could go in Sri Lanka, I loved every single second in this place, the food was one of the best I ever tasted and the people absolutely brilliant, the place it’s very close to the entrance into the park however Kumar took us to the second park to see leopards , this was an absolutely brilliant experience. One of the best I could say. I have no words enough to recommend this place. I highly recommend this to anyone that’s looking after a proper experience in Sri Lanka.
