I had a fantastic stay at Induwara Safari Resort and honestly couldn’t recommend it more.
The host was amazing — incredibly helpful, available at all times and genuinely cares about making sure everything runs smoothly. He personally organizes the Udawalawe safari with his own jeep and is an excellent guide. He has deep knowledge of the park and the animals, and explains everything you see in a very engaging way.
The safari included breakfast, and there was always water available, which was a big plus, especially early in the morning. Everything was well organized and stress-free.
On top of that, he also arranged my transport to Hiriketiya at a price cheaper than PickMe or Uber, which was a huge help. He completely removes the usual logistics stress — arrival, safari, departure — everything is taken care of. He also helps find cheap and reliable transport between destinations, as he’s connected to many local driver groups on WhatsApp.
The food at the hotel is excellent, the room was very clean, comfortable, and had hot water, which is always appreciated after an early safari start.
Overall, amazing value, great hospitality, and the easiest, most enjoyable way to experience Udawalawe.
Highly, highly recommended and the price is really unbeatable!

We were four of us and we stayed in a family room with two large beds. The room was quite spacious and the beds were very comfortable and room and bathroom were clean. We had ordered ahead for dinner. The meal was one of the best we have had. We are Sri Lankans living in the USA and we know what good Sri Lankan food is. Very authentic. The soft drinks they had made and the desserts (watalappan and curd) were simply fantastic. Harith, the co-owner and our host, was professional, courteous, and extremely helpful. We used his jeep to go on a safari early morning. Again, he did not disappoint us. Induruwa Safari Resort is one of the true gems for anyone who wants to stay at a clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced location.

Very friendly couple running this place. Nice meals and Safari. Spacious and clean rooms.

The food was exceptional. One of the best selection of curries we had whilst in Sri Lanka. The family who own the resort are super cute. They welcomed us with fresh juice and there was cold bottled water in the rooms which was a lovely touch. They organised the safari for us which was awesome! We seen so many elephants really close up and it was a great experience we’ll remember forever.

Induwara safari resort, that was amazing stay for me,really relax place,foods are delicious,room was very clean and comfortable,private bathrooms with hot water and modern facilitys, very speed wifi,staff very kindly and helpful. Another day morning safari very amazing,knowledgeable driver,6 hours safari with lunch included this very reasonable price, I really enjoyed my safari ,

The room was fabulous, also the location so nice and peaceful. We arrived late, but had a chance to still have homemade, delicious dinner.
The next day we went on a Safari and saw so many elephants!
It's now a place with lots of good memories for us! Definitely recommend!

The owner couldn’t be anymore helpful or accommodating with us! So knowledgeable when we was out on the safari, making sure you got the most out of the experience. We stayed here for one night, I don’t think you need to stay anymore than that in this area once you’ve done the safari :) thank you!

Met with a nice welcoming fruit juice, shown to our room, our safari for tomorrow morning explained, dinner of-fered for later, all very professional and friendly. The room was comfortable, clean, tiled floor, a/c, all very pleasant. Dinner was an amazing array of food for a curry fish with rice, 8 side dishes, and an excellent seafood fried rice. Quantity and quality for about 1600 per person. Breakfast was taken on safari, sandwiches, egg, pancakes, fruit juice and fruit. A mobile breakfast better than many we have been served in the accommodations.
The safari was similarly excellent. Care was taken when driving not to disturb animals, plenty of time allowed for viewing to our requirements, effort obviously put in not to follow the crowd. We saw numerous family groups and individuals, jackal, spotted deer by the dozen including magnificent males with antlers, many colourful birds, water buffalo, crocodile. Having been on numerous African safaris, while this does not compare in the volume and varie-ty of wildlife, for the service provided it certainly does. A good six hours plus, three hours isn't really worth you making the effort for, take your time. Thoroughly recommended.

When we arrived we we‘re welcomed with a banana milkshake. The room was clean and the bathroom super nice. The staff was very kind and helpful. We also booked a Safari in the morning which was done by the hotel manager himself who made a good price. We saw a lot of animals. He then later organised a Tuk Tuk for us to get to the bus station. I highly recommend this place because everything was just really nice and we felt very welcomed.

I only have good things to say about the owner and his family hospitality. Amazing food great safary (despite we struggle for a while with the mud in the path). Room was very clean and confortable. He even prepared us coffee at 5 am! Value for the money 10/10. ☺️
Maybe the Jeep for the safari could have a better 4x4 system to handle mud better. But it was great given the circumstances. Value for the money was excellent anyway.

This place is amazing, I am very sad that I cannot live here! Wonderful quiet location, lovely rooms, comfy bed, nice shower. The best host, so helpful and attentive, has own safari vehicle and did safari himself at a good price. Also the food is excellent, the breakfasts and the dinners were the best I have had. I cannot recommend this more highly, please book here!!
